Discipline

My child informed me yesterday that he was told to sit in the office and not go to recess because he was play fighting with his friend. Should the school notify you when your child is disciplined, or is it normal practice to not inform parents? Do I need to say something? He missed his entire recess for play fighti...

Toy kitchen for first birthday

My little girl will be 1 at the end of April and just thinking about a nice present for her. She can't walk yet but she loves standing. Do you think a toy role play kitchen would be a good present for a 1 year old? Or any other present ideas please 🙏

My son attends nursery Monday and Fridays so we will miss the opportunity for him to bring in his favourite book and to dress up, does anyone else’s school or nursery celebrate it all the week and not just on the actual day? Another parent asked my son to share.

So my 4 year old son is still learning the sharing concept and is getting better. Today at playgroup my son had two babies (twins) and was laying them down for a nap with pillows and blankets he had only been playing with them for a few minutes when a mum walked over and asked can her daughter have one. I made him s...

Screen time

Hey, I have 2 kids and I’m completely at a loss on how to handle screen time. I see so much online about only doing one hour. I have relatives who let their kids watch it all the time and their kids are healthy. I’m not sure how to handle it with my son who is 2. We only watch age appropriate shows or movies. And it...

Screen time - how much is too much?

My boys are 2 & 3, they have a couple of hours first thing in the morning so allow me to get done what I need to. Then whilst my youngest naps my eldest has another hour or so. I feel guilty for it, but it’s mentally exhausting to be on the go with them all day long with no chill time 😥

Activites

Looking for activity ideas for 18 month old. We rarely use screen time and if we do it's a film or something for 20 mins. But I'm finding it hard thinking of things to do, I feel I want to do eveything to support development but get too caught up in the pressure to do lots of activities and I can't think of any. We...
