My baby is now 3 wks old and I have been initially breastfeeding but have intense sharp pain when latching or expressing for the first 20-30secs then it goes and pain free for feeding etc is this due to being overly sensitive? Has anyone successfully breastfed using nipple shields? I really want to try breastfeeding for the second time after a hellish experience with my first. But my nipples are so incredibly sensitive to touch that I think the only way I’ll manage it is if I use nipple shields every time.
