Monitoring - Toco readings

I’m 38 weeks tomorrow and went into triage for the first time this morning as was worried about reduced movements which started yesterday. They were so accommodating and helpful and definitely put my mind at ease so am very glad I went in to be checked as all was ok 😊 When being monitored over the course of an hour though we noticed my Toco readings raising up to 40-50 and even up to 100 at one point. Sometimes this felt like tightening (which I do experience a lot but was never sure if it was Braxton hicks or not) and other times I didn’t feel it at all! When the midwife came to check the chart she was quite surprised and asked if I was feeling anything as she said it was peaking once in every 10 minute period. She said it could be my body preparing for labour which got my very excited but I’m also aware could still be weeks away! The bottom graph on the chart shows the pattern of peaks! Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similiar before going into labour or if it’s just a bit of a fluke!!

I went in for an induction one eve of my due date with my first and the machines showed I was already having contractions every 3 mins. I had no idea 😅

@Claire I find it crazy that we can’t even feel it! Makes me think it’s false!

Yeah! I would have agreed with u that it was a mistake if I hadn’t given birth around 12 hours later 😅

@Claire oh wow!! 😅😅

Yes!! I went in because I felt like I was having Braxton hicks every 3 minutes at home.. I could see and feel them ) not painful. And sure enough, they hooked me up for an hour and I was having them every 3 minutes! I have to drink soooo much water like 15 glasses a day to not get them this often!
