Honestly it’s so different for everyone! What did your OB say?

But personally I’d continue as normal but take it easy to keep baby in there as long as you can 🥰 some moms stay dilated at 1cm for weeks!

@Alexxis Nicole I didn’t get to see him today. We have had a really bad ice storm down here so I went to a different hospital L and D just to make sure he was okay. They told me to follow up with him so as soon as his office opens back up from the storm I’ll be able to see my normal OB. I’m not leaking fluid just dilated to a 1 and 50% effaced.

50% effaced means your cervix is thinned prepping for labor and dilation is not a real sign of progression according to my providers and is often used by hospitals to force interventions. Always go with your gut but if you have not had your water break or any contractions nothing should be of worry. If anything I’d make sure you are not over exerting yourself, staying hydrated and rested.

You could still not go into labor until 40 weeks. Every persons body is different. I was 70% effaced and 2cm dilated for weeks and my son still didn’t come until 41 weeks. just means your cervix is preparing. So unless contractions start or your water breaks, it’s no indication labor will start soon.
