I had placenta prévia and yes it moves they will do a ultrasound near your due date. Just look out for severe bleeding, I had slight bleeding but I was ok.
I had a low lying placenta and it did push up naturally. When I found out I was very nervous and anxious as well. Try not to worry or stress out. They will do another scan for you closer to your due date to confirm if your placenta has moved.
Thank you guys ♥️
I had this too and felt the same way you did! Worried, uncertain, disappointed that there was a higher probability of needing a c-section. But they checked me again via ultrasound about a month or so later (around 25 weeks) and the placenta had moved on its own! It is completely normal to feel concerned and a bit stressed, but do know that many times it will move up on its own so try to remain as hopeful as you can💗
I had a low lying placenta and when I went for my 36 week scan it was still low so they had to book me in for a c section x
Mine was low lying too, but I was bleeding off and on, ended up being admitted from around 26wks and pleaded to be let out for Xmas. Got home for 3 days and had another bleed so I was straight back in, ended up with an emergency section in the end. My placenta had actually moved in that time, but the bleeding feom the lower edge of the placenta is what caused all the issues for me. Looking back on it now it wasn't ideal and was a bit scary but it wasn't that bad. An emergency section the worst case scenario for u tho and not as likely, as I imagine if the placenta doesn't move enough then it'll be a planned section for u, which are a lot more manageable and go a lot smoother from what I understand.
I found out at 18 weeks I had the same thing, placenta previa, and they had me on a no sex, don’t pick up anything heavier than a gallon of milk order, and I went back on 23 weeks and it had shifted up and off of my cervix as they mentioned it would as time passed and the baby grew but my placenta was only about 1cm over my cervix so depending on how much of your cervix it’s covering will probably determine how much it will shift. Good luck!
@Anna yea I’m on the same “no sex, and don’t lift anything heavy” order… but they want to wait until I’m 28 weeks to do my next check.. so my husband and I can’t have sex for 8 weeks.. I was hoping they would be able to check at 24 weeks.. but felt that wasn’t long enough..
My neighbor had placenta previa. She was told a C-section would be necessary. By the time she went into labor the placenta had shifted and she was able to deliver naturally without complication. I didn’t have this but I did have an emergent C-section and I would have preferred to natural birth but the C-section experience wasn’t that bad. As long as baby gets into the world safely nothing else will matter after.
Ugh, we didn’t have sex the whole pregnancy, and I was super anxious, the us tech told me this but when I seen the doctor she said something completely different. You just need your placenta to shift 2 cm I think and you can deliver normally otherwise you can pick the day your baby is born!!!! I tried Father’s Day but I had to wait
@Tamara mine moved so I was cleared! Now my husband is afraid to have sex so he doesn’t hurt me lol
I had a low lying placenta and they did a recheck around 32 weeks and it moved up.
I had a low lying placenta and it went back up on its own. I gave birth vaginally. I would say try to avoid any form of vigorous exercise until it's back up. Avoid even long walks.
I had my 20 week scan a couple of weeks ago and the lady said that I have an anterior low placenta. She said this is relatively common and hopefully my placenta will move in time and not be a problem. I had a normal check up yesterday and the doctor was reading my notes and said I should abstain from sex, heavy lifting, bending etc. this has really scared me as the lady at my 20w scan had a much more relaxed approach. I don’t mind having to book a c section if it gets baby safely into the world. But google has made me rather worried about bleeding etc in the meantime.

@Kelly yea, those are my exact same concerns
I didn't have a low laying placenta but I heard quite often that it really moves up towards the end of pregnancy. Hoping yours will do the same and you can experience a natural birth.
