I asked my consultant about this and she laughed at me…she said it’s one she had never heard before. She said cold drinks were absolutely fine which I was relieved to hear because the transfer before I was drinking all my water luke warm and it was bloody awful! X
I did this and only ate and drank warm food and drink because my acupuncture practitioner told me it's to do with having a 'cold womb' and I need to have a 'warm womb' for it to work (it's based on Chinese medicine). I still failed ... So honestly don't worry about it. Fingers crossed for you xx
Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences and well wishes! Your support means a lot❤️
I drank plenty of ice water and stuck to my usual diet after my first FET. I’m now 5 weeks:)
@Mariah congratulations! 😊
Not cold , but McDonald’s chips and I went straight there after transfer and it worked 👌 maybe be a wife’s tail but worked for me x
@Bec it's funny you say that because I just read about that somewhere else on here and went straight out and got some. Idk if there is a chips window but I don't have anything to lose!
Honestly I had McDonald’s after every transfer I had , first 2 times I had pancakes 3rd time chips x
@Megan my doctor asked me what I had planned for the rest of the day after transfer . I said I’m going to McDonald’s he laughed and said to get chips 🤣
Just do everything you can to make it stick! A warm uterus its important! That’s why we were socks during these procedures. If you have acupuncture, that’s why the heat lamp is always on.
McDonalds fries do the trick!! And warm soups & comfort foods
There’s no scientific backing to cold drinks playing any impact at all. I went home with ice cold drinks with my fries and I have a 2 year old and am 21 wks pregnant with #2. Most things are just wives tales and I looked at them more like a bonding ivf thing than anything that was going to make or break my transfers
I had a McDonald’s milkshake on the drive home after my transfer. I’m now 19 weeks. It’s all old wives tales with no basis. It’s down to the embryo whether it sticks.
