Moses basket and/or baby nest?

Hello! Some friends are giving us their Moses basket. We had initially planned to get a Najell baby nest. But now thinking maybe we should hold off. As far as I understand it, a baby nest and Moses basket sort of serve the same purpose - a place for babies to daytime nap that you can move from room to room…? Is there any reason to own both of these items? I think if I had to go with one the sleep nest is more versatile…but maybe a waste to get if we’re getting the basket for free? Thanks ladies!

I would stick with Moses basket :) it is much safer . Sleeping nests are not recommended by the LullabyTrust and can increase risk of SIDS. I would stick to Moses basket but buy a new mattress for it if the mattress has been used . X

Think moses baskets are safer as they're more open/ventilated? We keep 1 downstairs and 1 upstairs

Moses basket all the way 🙌🏻

I had a sleep nest with handles similar to the najell one (just way older as it was something my mom used with me) and I loved it for daytime sleep. It was so easy to move around and when we went out to visit friends/family I could take it with and he had a familiar place to sleep.

There are cots you can get they are from birth mamas & papas do them. Saves the expense of buying moses. X

Get both Iv got both 🤗 was give a Moses basket and was brought a baby nest I’ll keep them in different rooms So many of my friends have raved about the nest so I’m giving it a go x
