My Doc is at Northside (the main one) , I’m not due till July. But I was happy with the specialist care when I had to see a perinatologist
I had my baby almost 2 months ago at Kennestone and while the staff was nice the room itself was awful. I could here plumbing everytime someone turned on the shower/flushed the toilet from my room. Like loud enough to interrupt sleep. Thier facilities are dated and in need of a refresh.
@Kim the one on Johnson ferry. I think it’s technically in sandy springs
I had my son at Northside Gwinnett. I don’t know much about the Atlanta campus, but my boy was a preemie and got great care at Northside.
@Tanesha yeah this is one of the things I was worried about. They’re renovating the whole hospital but they haven’t gotten to L&D yet. I went there once because I was worried about preeclampsia symptoms and they took FOREVER to see me and the room they kept me in was horrible
@Katie I’d say go with the location that your OB has medical access to. Not all doctors are allowed access to their patients in the hospital.
I would go with kennestone if you want more autonomy and less interventions. Check out the “Georgia moms for better birth” page in Facebook.
I was at northside Atlanta. The delivery room was nice and comfy. The overnight rooms were good for mom and baby. Not so much for dad. You get two people who can come and go.
@Kim only issue with that is I just moved up here. I don’t have an OB up here. I came from Valdosta
I just had my baby at kennestone 5 mths ago and cab agree about the loud plumbing. It was loud enough to make memories baby and jump but was able to mostly sleep. Personally my labor there was not the best as I just felt abandoned by the staff of nurses and I absolutely hated it. But the after care was nice and great they got me everything I asked for.
Sorry me and baby* not memories
I delivered in Northside and thought the room was nice afterwards and they had a pullout bed/couch for my husband. I can’t say much about the actual delivery as my baby was stillborn and I had no say on how I wanted to birth him. They held me down and pumped me with fentanyl and morphine to give birth. But the staff there was absolutely incredible and caring, especially given everything we went through. The nurses were just amazing!
Northside Atlanta
run far far away from northside cherokee

I delivered at Northside Atlanta in January. I ended up having to be there for 8 days, but my husband and I were very comfortable while we were there.
I delivered at Northside as well, the room was amazing and the staff were very helpful since it was my first baby. After care was incredible! They give you a diaper bag and a bunch of other stuff in the room. They also gave me a whole bunch of extra things for baby right before we left(diapers, socks, pacifier, t shirts, hat, gauze, and petroleum jelly).
Oh my god y’all were not kidding about the fucking plumbing at kennestone. It’s so loud 😭it’s driving me insane
@Katie that’s exactly how I was 😭😭 me and baby both kept getting awakened by it
@Katie I hope your delivery was smooth and congrats!
Delivered both kids at Northside main. Had great experiences both times. Plus got to take tons of things home. Lots of resources. Great staff and lots of support and also respectful.
Which campus of Northside?
