FTM, If you went into labor without an induction, plz share your labor story! Super curious how it started!

For anyone who gave birth and didn’t have an induction, I’m super curious how labor started for you. My questions are below but feel free to share whatever else you’d like. - What week did you go into labor? - Did you have any signs that labor was near ( mucus plus lost, contractions, water broke, etc.) - how dilated were you at your previous appointment before labor? - What did your first contractions during labor feel like? I hear so much different things about FTM and timing of labor, so just curious about your experience. I’m near the end and have no signs that baby will come AT ALL!

girl I’m in the same position as you. I’m 38 wks and haven’t lost my mucus plug, had a single contraction or anything to help me out. at my 37 wk appt i was barely 1 cm dilated but idk where I’m at now

@Ava haha, I had 0 dilation and my cervix was high and hard at 38 weeks so yeah 😅

Hello!! I went Into labor at 40 weeks and 3 days! I did have my membrane sweep a few days before I went into labor, after that appointment I was pretty crampy, but then it went away. I lost my mucus plug after that, it looked like a clear blob of jello lol. I was 1cm dilated for 2 weeks until I went into labor also. My first contraction happened Saturday the 4th of March, I woke up feeling like I had just gotten my period. I was really crampy, no back pain though. I went to the bathroom and went to lay back in bed and noticed that the cramps were coming and going every 9 minutes, I started timing them and by 1130-12pm they were 4-5 minutes apart and got stronger and stronger. I started to not be able to talk or walk when they came. I also pooped like 3 times that morning lol it’s normal bc the baby is pushing down. I also peed a lot. By the time I got to the hospital at 1:45-1 my contractions were 1.5 minutes apart and they had me do a urine sample, blood draw, and put in an Iv of

I’m 39 W + 3 D - due on Thursday 16th and I have absolutely no signs of labour bar the off menstrual cramping here and there, I have to wait for midwife appointment on Thursday to find out if I am dilated and an induction date if bub doesn’t arrive before then. xx

Fluids, I was screaming at this point(I don’t know how women can do it without pain meds lol I give them props) I had the option to stand up and walk around and I tried that, I threw up and pissed myself from the pain lol, I was dilated to 2 before I got any meds. I had the epidural but it took 15 minutes to kick in and by that time my contractions were getting stronger, my water broke while I was laying in bed, they cathed me, and the epidural and iv of fentanyl kicked in and I felt on cloud 9. I could breathe, I had no pain when the contractions came anymore I couldn’t even tell. I dilated about a cm an hour and by 10:30pm it was time to push, I pushed about 4 times, felt nothing but pressure, and 9minutes later my baby girl was born!! After she was out, the placenta came out, also felt pressure with that but not for as long as baby. I was terrified. But I did it!!

My water broke at 38 weeks with my first. I never lost my mucus plug to my knowledge. I don’t remember how dilated I was at my last appointment because this was 19 years ago lol. My labor was short and intense. 4 hours start to finish with no epidural. From then my subsequent labors have just gotten more quick. I got the epidural with my second and third though and I will with my fourth so long as there’s time.

For my first, I had lower back pain start midday at 39 weeks 2days. My water broke and I lost my mucus plug around 7. I was admitted to the hospital around 8pm at only 2cm. But contractions kept coming on strong and baby girl was born at 3:30am with only 3 pushes. I missed the chance for an epidural which wasn’t the end of the world. I’m 38weeks and 3days with my second and praying for a similar, perhaps faster labor. Best of luck mamas! You are stronger than you think!

Short and sweet since I was in labor for 20 ish hours lol. But 12:30am my water broke as I was getting up to pee in the middle of the night. It was like in movies haha. Contractions started after that and got real intense real fast. My dad asked how baby was and if baby was moving and I noticed he wasn’t moving a ton…. But it was also middle of the night so he might have been sleeping lol. We end up going to the hospital a couple hours after that and was just laboring the whole time. For an epidural 6 hours after water broke because I wasn’t progressing I also got put on pitocin when I got there. For future I would have definitely walked around and not been put on pitocin. After 20 hours of labor my sons heart rate wasn’t the best and I wasn’t progressing so we ended up choosing to do a c section

I was 39+2 days I had no signs before my water broke. I went on a long walk at the park the day before so that could have helped but not sure hah I was only like 1-2 cm dilated before labor and only got to 7cm before c section. My contractions felt like really intense period cramps

My March (turned into February) baby was induced but my first baby came naturally at 38 weeks. I was having tons of Braxton Hicks and he'd been dropped since 35 weeks, and a few days before labor I was 3cm dilated and something like 90% effaced. 2 days before labor I lost my mucus plug and just got absolutely exhausted, like completely different level from normal third trimester tired. I basically slept for 2 straight days. My first real contraction was at 8pm and I honestly can't describe how it felt or how I knew it was the real thing, I just instantly knew. Instinct I guess. It was a very unique feeling I'd never felt before, not really much like period cramps to me. I was admitted to the hospital at 1am at 5cm and baby was born at 3:11pm.

I went into labor a day before my due date. I was at a birthing center so I didn’t ever get checked before labor because it’s not medically necessary. If I wanted to be checked I could have been but saw no need to since it really doesn’t say anything about jow close you are. You can be zero cm then the next day have your baby or 4cm and. It have baby for another month. The week before I went into labor I was really tired. Didn’t want to do anything, also had trouble sleeping through the night but also took a lot of naps. My Braxton hicks became more frequent. I got randomly nauseous and threw up a few days before. A few days before I started feeling mild period like cramps irregularly in the morning then again at night. Then the next day I had them all day long gradually getting closer together. By that night it was every 4 ish minutes for 45 seconds. I called the midwife around 2 am and she said to try to get some sleep and call back when it gets more intense. I slept between contrac

Contractions and they were very intense at this point. Also some time this night I had a thick mucusy thing come out when I wiped. Around 5am they were so intense and sometimes no break at all between them. The whole time I felt like I had to poop so bad. The pressure was intense. I called again she said to meet there at 7:30 (it was an hour and a half drive) on the car ride a little water leaked out. we got there and I was checked for the first time my whole pregnancy and I was 10cm ready to push. I pushed for 4 hours and my water broke around the 2 hour mark.

I started losing my mucus plug at 38w had a sweep at 38 +4 and was 3cm and walked for a long time the next day. Morning of 38 +6 I had my usual Braxton Hicks but with light period cramps during each. Went to hospital around 2pm and was 5cm but not feeling the contractions anymore. 4hrs later I could stretch to 8cm but still wasn’t feeling much beside light cramping during a contraction. 3hrs later I asked to have my water broken and started feeling the contractions right away mostly in my back which wasn’t fun but hip squeezes and squats were my best friend during contractions. 4hrs later i was pushing, pushed for ten minutes and my son was born on morning of 39w did it with no meds or iv. Placenta was out properly ten minutes later, the fundal massage was soooo much worse than contractions and pushing

I went into labor at 39 +1, the night before I started with low back pain and cramps. I didn’t think much of it since I had felt similar pain before but it felt a lot different this time. I never lost my mucus plug or felt braxton hicks. Atleast that I’m aware of since this was my first pregnancy. I woke up to use the restroom & I was having cramps but very mild, I thought maybe J had slept wrong. When I got up to wipe & I felt water trickle down & then a little more. I didn’t start having pain until maybe 10 mins later the cramps began, period cramps but much worse. When I got triaged at the hospital I was at 3cm dilated & my contractions were at 4-5 mins apart and about 30 seconds long. I got admitted once they were able to confirm my water had ruptured & this was like at 6:30-7am. I got admitted & once I was able to get the epidural I did. At this time my contractions were happening a lot closer and a lot worse, I don’t do good with pain so as soon as I was able to get it I did.

For both pregnancies: I saw CNMs and they didn't bother with cervical checks. I never had Braxton Hicks. Never saw any mucus plug. Never felt babies "drop" as mine stay very low in the pelvis from early on. My waters didn't break until about 30-45 min before my babies arrived. For my first baby, I went into labor at 40+4. First contraction was the middle of the night and then I slept for 2 more hours, got up around 3:30am with consistent contractions and baby was born 12 hours later. No warning at all on when labor would begin. For my second baby, there was one day where I had 4-5 hours of excruciating pelvic pressure and pain. I could barely move and felt bruised internally. Woke up the next morning and felt great so I went shopping. Got home and contractions started around 5pm...I didn't realize it at first because they were so mild and I'd slept through all the early contractions during my first pregnancy. Baby was born at 39w1d after a 3 hour labor.
