Honestly i loved Presby! The nurses were so attentive and i felt like my voice was being heard, i didn’t want to leave at one point. 😂
We’re going with presby! My father in law was a surgeon there for along time and he told us that their L&D department is amazing!
I don't have experience delivering in town. I do know both hospital systems from having been born and raised here (and now being back). I prefer Novant overall. However, if an emergency or cardiac issue take me to CMC main! I don't think you can go wrong with either L&D tbh Why are they recommending induction? Do you have any health concerns that might warrant it?
I delivered all three of my kiddos at CMC Main, they have a wonderful L&D team. I have friends who delivered at Presby and they spoke highly of it as well.
I’m at novant and absolutely LOVE their team so far! I also love that they seem to be on the side of “your body knows what it’s doing” and doesn’t rush it along. But if needed, they will def step in with medical intervention! My coworker had a preemie there and she had the best experience you can have in that situation. ❤️
I’ve been seeing myself with atrium doctors have been amazing and super supportive. I went to the hospital once at CMC for triage. And it was just a normal experience they were nice nothing out the Blue really. On the other hand I switched from novant health because in my opinion I felt like they weren’t Hearing me and what I wanted they would force other things upon me instead and I always feel like they’re rushing and just not attentive I’m Personally happy with atrium CMC.
I loved Novant Presbyterian. Had both of my babies there
The nurses was awesome at CMC Main. I didn’t deliver there but my Sun was transferred there after a incident at Union West 🙄 Remember unless it’s medically necessary (life or death) they can’t force you to have an induction.
@Anna I have gestational diabetes that has been diet and exercise controlled (haven’t had a spike in my blood sugar levels in over a month). However their main concern is not my levels, it’s that my baby girl will get too big because I have it even though she is measuring on track and they estimated she would be 7 pounds 8 ounces at my due date. They are trying to push induction based on what could happen vs what is actually happening. I told them I wanted to her to come naturally and would be open to revisiting the induction if a real problem arose, but they are still pushing it at every single appointment while also telling me everything is fine 🙃 Thank you for the advice though! Seems like main is a good option for high risk pregnancies.
CMC main! I’ve worked at both 🤗
I gave both at Main and had the best experience. The nurses were amazing and supported my labor plan. Dr. Bell was my OB and was the one to deliver. I did get induced at 38 weeks due to higher blood pressure the last few weeks or pregnancy.
@Daisha Wall I had Gestational diabetes with my last one and they were good about it they checked babies level 3 times after she wa born. I will say they’re triage nurses aren’t the best when it comes to taking stuff serious well most are but there are few who aren’t
I had my baby at novant presb. I really enjoyed my my delivery. I had been going to atrium doctors my entire pregnancy but had to deliver without them due to an emergency but it was great!!
I had both my boys at Novant Health Presbyterian, one in 2019 and one in 2021. Loved my L&D team both times! They were amazing and so supportive.

Presby!
I had a horrible time at atrium health. They forced induction on me. I had hypertension during my pregnancy, but it was being controlled with medication. Literally at my 28 week appointment. The doctor came in at the last second by appointment and said we’re going to do a induction at 37 weeks and then walked out of the room and did not give me a chance to say no and almost killed me after I gave birth because I asked for my blood pressure medication because the nurse practitioner that I changed to after I got a really bad vibe from my OB told me to continue to take it for six weeks after I give birth, they told me I didn’t have to take it anymore and four days later my blood pressure was 172/120. my daughter should have been an emergency C-section, but they had me deliver vaginally the cord was wrapped all around her, and she did came out black aand they had to work a little bit to get her to be breathing and crying again when she came out.
I delivered at Union West all of the nurses were either travel nurses my OB didn’t even deliver my baby. It was an all call doctor and they didn’t even have any supplies for me after I gave birth they just had mesh underwear, a Perry bottle and some pads.
I have given birth at both. Personally, I preferred Novant Presbyterian.
@Faith I’m so sorry you had that experience, that could have been very detrimental to you and baby. I’m so glad y’all both came back home healthy
I just gave birth three days ago and I delivered at CMC Main! I have no complaints, but it’s whatever you feel is best for you 💓
I delivered at presby uptown, my ob's office delivers here. the nurses were amazing!!
Run girl. I delivered both kiddos at CMC and regret not putting more effort into switching sooner. I was 6 months pregnant and perfectly healthy when they started mentioning having a C-section.
Curious to know what you decided?
I heard CMC main was pretty Awesome
