How much mylicon are we giving?

Baby is almost 6 weeks old and extremely gassy. The box says you can give up to 12 doses per day for infants under 2 but I googled just to make sure and it says newborns/under 2 months no more than 3x a day. My baby is really gassy and could probably use 12x a day but I haven’t done over 3x. Anyone have experience with this?

My pediatrician said to give it after every feed. We’ve been doing that and it helps a lot. When we feed without them he’s miserable.

Gripe water is great for gas as well as the windi by frida baby if you need to try other options if you haven’t already. Those two together worked wonders for us. Also eliminating dairy if you’re nursing or switching formulas. This is just my experience from my first born. We needed to eliminate dairy from my diet as well as switch to goat milk formula for her. It all got better after that. Good luck

I was a little hesitant too with my 6w old but she’s incredibly gassy as well and so I give it to her every other feed just in case but she’s been fine. And it works well

@Jessica Mylicon is a medication called Simethicone. It is exceptionally harmless so you should be good giving it 12 times a day

My baby had a tongue tie until he was 6 weeks and we got it released. We would give him half a dose before feeding and the other half after, seemed to work well but now the gas has gone down a ton naturally since hes not getting so much air in his sucks

We give our little the .3 ml dose before every feed (recommended by our pediatrician because it allows it to start helping before she eats). We either do every other feed or every feed coupled with bicycles and tummy massages depending on how bad her gas is. At our 2 month appt we were told that the mylicon is completely safe and are good to use with every feed.

With every bottle that's what my pediatrician says
