Painful sweep.. posterior cervix

Has anyone had a similar experience? I had my sweep today and was cervix was posterior so she really had to force herself up there and she pulled it forward and managed to do the sweep. It was honestly so painful and uncomfortable, I absolutely won’t be having it done again if it doesn’t work this time around. I wouldn’t mind but she said she would check first, but went ahead and did the whole thing. I’m feeling pretty crappy.

I’ve just had a sweep done today and it was tucked behind baby’s head so she couldn’t do it and stopped - that was painful enough let alone your experience!! Defo should not have done this without checking you were ok with it etc and talking through everything. Fingers crossed it works for you so it was worthwhile at least! Xx

I had one at 37 weeks and it was extremely painful, had another one yesterday at 39 weeks as there was no change from the last one and it was the same pain wise. Defo should of checked with you first and should of asked you your pain level tolerance cause not everyone can tolerate a really good tugging! Hope it works for you 💓 it’s meant to work 8 out of every 10! 💓

Yup, I had one yesterday that was painful as it was posterior but nothing has happened today. Feeling upset as I just want this baby to come!

Mine faces the same way . They had me use a fist and push it into my back to help angle it so they could reach it easier. Cervix was still 0cm (41 + weeks), but it was less painful once I was able to help her find it.

Yes most painful thing ever. How awful that she did it without asking! I’d be bringing someone with me to any appointments like that. My midwife asked if she should stop and I said no out of some kind of weird obligation to continue but I wished I said yes and still felt violated by it. I think if my partner had seen me in that much pain, he would have told her to stop!
