When to move out of Moses basket

I can’t believe I’m even asking this at just 5 weeks but when does everyone plan on moving from their Moses basket to their full cot/crib? I’d assumed he would be next to me until around 5/6 months but he already looks massive in it and I can’t see him going past 2/3 months in it. He does sleep well in the night and only really wakes once for a feed, occasionally twice and his nursery with cot I can see from my bed with the doors open….it just seems so young?

My little one is 5 weeks and sleeps in the next to me very happily, he likes having a foot in my face for comfort and I like him being close but safe!

@Bee yeh he’s totally content in his basket, we don’t have the dropped side so no kicks to the head for me haha! He just seems so big in it now already I can’t imagine him still being in it past maybe 2/3 months max 🥺

You could still have a crib next to you if you wanted him close? My little one is very long too I think ill be in the same situation 🥲

Do you just have a Moses basket? If so I’d look at a next to me crib which are much bigger? My friend moved her baby into his for at 4 months because he was too big for the next to me crib x

My little one doesn't settle in his Moses basket at all. He seems to get really hot and bothered. We've started putting him in the next to me in a sleeping bag on a night now and even though he looks small in it, he seems to prefer it x

We moved to the crib when my baby was literally 6weeks. He was also too big for the bassinet even do it was pretty and nice and next to my bed and he looked like tiny fish in ocean in his crib, but I think it was great to get him use to his crib and sleeping patterns early and also good for his back ergonomic wise!

I think the official line for next to me’s is once they can sit up.. but not sure on Moses baskets

I didn’t want a Next2Me for a few reasons so just have the Moses basket @Emma and I don’t have the space to bring his full size in to my room @Bee Think I might try him today in his ‘big boy cot’ in his nursery for a nap as I’ve got loads of stuff to tidy and pack away in there anyway and see what he’s like in it @Emma was yours in the same room as you at 6 weeks or in their own room?

@Jenn baby should be in with you for the first 6 months at least.
