I actually had a wonderful experience. My nurses were so friendly and supportive. I was nervous cause I had my first baby and was having some complications but they were really great!
I literally just delivered there 6 days ago. I honestly don’t have a negative thing to say about it. This is my third child that I have had there. Some of the nurses are nicer than others, but I have no problem advocating for myself if someone say something I don’t like. I had a good experience I was there for 6 days after delivery and everyone was always there for me. I guess everyone had their own experiences though…
I have heard lots of horrible stories at Lakeridge. I went to Mount Sinai even though living in Pickering. No regret
Delivered August 2022. Had a lovely delivery. Nurses were kind however they were understaffed — but I have talked to a number of nurses and this is the case everywhere. My only advice is to advocate for yourself at any health care facility. If something isn’t feeling right, say so. And if you feel like you aren’t being heard - don’t drop it. Make sure your partner is on the same page as you and talk about - in advance - what you do and don’t want.
Delivered March 2022 and loved all the nurses and the doctor who delivered my son. Everyone was super nice. I still cry when I think about the nurse who helped me go to the bathroom for the first time after delivery. She was so sweet and made me feel safe. And in the postpartum rooms, every nurse we had was really caring and kind. People assume Oshawa is bad but most people who say that, didn’t actually deliver there.
Delivered Sep 2022, it was a horrible experience the worst nightmare ever. It was my first pregnancy and I was so nervous. I suffered a 3 degree tear due to the doctors negligence. Being a nurse I knew what they could have done to prevent this but they failed to do. Neglected my labour pain and never gave me Epidural even though I opted for it and later came saying that sorry it’s too late to give epidural now. I would never recommend anyone to deliver there.
The misconception about Oshawa is more so with their emergency room and other areas. Their labour and delivery is actually quite amazing. I had my 2020 and March 2023 baby there and both times it was excellent. They also have a great NICU if for some reason your baby ends up needing it (one of the best NICUs in the area)
@Chelsea What do they provide?
I'm a FTM and had my baby there in June. The nurses were great and so reassuring. We're only allowed 2 guests at a time but they never enforced the rule and we had my fiance + both moms in the delivery room.
What do they provide for postpartum
I would try Markville or Scarborough oshawa is horrible I haven’t met anyone who has had a great experience.
