Test out trigger shot or not?

I took my first trigger shot today to prepare for our IUI tomorrow!(first one, so excited!) I see lots of women “test out” the hcg from their trigger shot so they can see the progression go from positive to negative and back to positive when they find out they’re pregnant! I love the idea of this… but also worried I might be sad and upset seeing 2 lines and knowing it’s just the trigger… and then the possibility of it going negative and staying negative… Have you tested out? Did you wait the full 2 weeks?

I def tested it out because I knew I wasn’t going to be able to wait 2 weeks so it gave me peace of mind to just be able to track it!

@Daniela did you end up with a positive? If not, how did you feel? I feel like I won’t be able to wait either lol

I tested my first one out and it made me so anxious when it started to fade. I didn’t test it out this time though for my 2bd iui. X

I always test it out because I wanted to find out how long it stays in my system in case I get excited when it’s false and found out that my trigger always lasts the full 14 days which is annoying so just be aware of that. Everyone is different though

@Rubi I didn’t realize the trigger could last that long… that’s good to know.

@Gemma that’s what I’m worried of.. it fading and then not coming back 😣 sending baby dust!

@Ronni yes, it ended up being a positive and she is now 9 months old! My trigger shots were out of my system by day 9 but everyone’s bodies are different
