My baby hates formula 😭😩

So since my baby was a week old (she’s 3 months now) she’s been mostly bottle fed with breast milk but sometimes I breastfeed her as well. Right now I’m in the process of trying to transition to formula and I’ve been slowly but surely using all the milk I’ve stashed in the freezer. However, my baby HATES formula. She literally makes this face of pure disgusts whenever we try feeding it to her 😂. Every bottle of formula we’ve given her has gone to waste and I end up breastfeeding her. I tasted a drop of the formula in comparison to breast milk and I can honestly see why she doesn’t like it lol. It taste kind of weird and it’s not as sweet. Does anyone have any recommendations? If you transitioned, how did your baby react to formula?

Are you transitioning because you’d prefer to do formula or was pumping not going well?

@Samantha I exclusively pump. However, I am slowly introducing formula because I can't pump forever. I tried Bobbie, Enfamil, and similac. My baby did NOT like any of them. They taste weird which may or may not contribute, who really knows. But then I tried Kendamil and my LO loved it. I tasted it and it tastes pretty good.

My husband and I are just formula feeding our 3 month and we use a brand called Hipp it's amazing acts just like breastmilk. It's a goat milk base formula , she was having stomach issues with the cows milk too much iron.

@Taylor I’d definitely prefer if she drank breast milk but pumping has been kind of inconvenient since I’ve started working again. Initially my plan was to do a year of feeding breast milk but that’s out the window 🥴 But I never produced as much as I’d like. On a very good day, I could pump maybe 5 - 6oz per session. But I’ve been pumping less lately and feeding her some of the milk I’ve stored and now I get maybe 3oz during a pump session.

@Tori thank you! I’ll look into this one. And yeah, I’ve heard of some people mixing their milk with the formula so I might give that a try 🤔

@Stephanie I’ll look into that, thank you! 😊

@Alyssa thanks! I’ve heard a few good things about Kendamil. I think I’ll give that one a try 🤔

@Samantha welcome you can also do donor milk my hubs and and I used it. Only thing it can be pretty expensive. I'll sure FL has some donor banks .

I personally think the kendamill doesn’t smell as bad as most. My sister used Enfamil espire for her breast fed baby who didn’t like anything

Yeah i think also maybe mixing formula with breastmilk . I been doing that because by next month im planing to stop pumping. So i started off with one oz of formula and 2 of breastmilk now where on half and half 2oz and 2oz . I tried just giving formula and she didnt want it . I also noticed if i warm up the only formula bottle she’ll drink it .

I’d try doing half formula and half breast milk, you need to slowly transition for the taste

I am transitioning from exclusively pumping.. my little guy was in the same boat! I tried everything.. the only formula he will take is called Kendamil .. I get it at Target

Why don't you give her a couple oz of breast milk so that she starts sucking then when she's done give the rest on formula 🤷‍♀️ lol . Thankfully i never had this issue i use to pump too and occasionally supplement with gentlease and now he's on nutramigen and this guy can literally drink anything in the bottle 🤦‍♀️

My little man doesn’t even care if I give him breast milk or the enfamil gentlease formula. I picked that one based off of reading that it was the “closest to breastmilk”

My daughter was the same way. We use Bobbie formula. It’s a little more expensive but she loves it and it comes right to the house on a subscription
