I initially only took about 5 mls as I wasn’t sure how it would go and had been told the ward only had a fridge rather than freezer so didn’t want it all going to waste. If they have a freezer you could just take it all but maybe check and if they only have a fridge just take a small amount first. Your partner can always bring more in if they are going home. I ended up using all mine too (about 20ml) but only cos he was starving and I was too sore to feed. Won’t be the case for everyone
@Leanne I mean like if you forget to ask for it back and they don’t remember to give it back
@Helena perfect, thank you x
Oh I see. Yeah i suppose that could happen but you're encouraged to move around and I had open access to the ward fridge so I just went and got it myself before we left but I used the last of it just before in the end anyway xx
My daughter was able to take a few syringes per feed and needing to feed at least ever 3 hours. I ran out in a few days. You can also take some syringes and express whilst there if needed. Hope that’s helpful. You could always ask someone to bring more in if you needed. We had some freezer blocks ready. Good luck 😊 x
I’ve only got 5 full syringes and I go in on Friday so panic expressing now lol, also don’t want to bring on labour by doing it too much. How much is a good stash to have? I’d like some to take to the hospital and some for home x
Please don’t worry too much! Any amount is so useful. Lots of people can’t get any so you’re already ahead of the game! We only used ours up as we had trouble latching. As I said you can still hand express once babies here (at one point the nurse hand expressed for me 😂) They also have pumps there so you can always pump if needed. Xx
Why wouldn't they give it back? I took 20ml used the whole lot cos he was cluster feeding but even if I didn't they just had it in a fridge labelled for me so I could go and get it as needed or ask a midwife too if I was in too much pain xx
