WIC

Anyone else on WIC? I just had my first appointment and she was very persistent on me having baby latch again. He’s almost 2 weeks old and we’re monitoring bilirubin symptoms for him so the doctor has me pump and supplement with formula. Has anyone else been through this and eventually went back to just breastfeeding?

I never stopped breastfeeding, you don’t need to supplement with formula, breastfeeding is better since they drink more often, so they pee and poop more often ☺️ and that’s how bilirubin level decrease, by babies peeing and pooping. I’m so thankful for my Pediatrician, he’s encouraged me through this process (EBF) if you have any doubts, you can message me.

I’m not on WIC. But was recently approved for state health insurance, I used to be under my job but I’m staying home with my son now. I think I qualify for it now.

I'm on WIC, I breastfeed, but baby doesn't latch. I also had a baby on special formula on WIC. And I wouldn't stop breastfeeding. If you can keep going.

Me! My to. Had an upper lip tie and just gradually got better at latching as he grew. I gave up for a little bit, then started attempting a latch each time I was about to.feed him, whether that was before or after the bottle depended on his mood.
