Have anyone delivered at holy cross hospital (silver spring)

So my doctor is telling me to deliver at holy cross hospital and I look at the hospital reviews and not sure if it’s a good hospital lol. So I’m wondering if any moms delivered here before and what was your experience?

I’ve delivered there almost 4 years ago with my first son, and didn’t have a good experience the nurses & doctors were horrible.

I have! I loved most of my nurses it was a very smooth experience my room was just not how I imagined & my partner wasn’t allowed to order food only me so he either had to go to the cafeteria or go drive and get something to eat. There are probably better hospitals but I’m not sure my experience wasn’t bad at all.

I used capital women’s care and delivered there. The doctors were not great. Though if your doctor is gonna be there that might not matter. The nurses were great though.

I did and will be delivering my second there as well. My dr office only has privileges there. Everything was fine. Epidural, induction, c-section all went as smooth as could be expected. Nurses are mainly travel nurses. Most were great. I had one terrible one, but I was there for almost a week and I’m sure there will be one anywhere. Postpartum rooms could be nicer.

I delivered there in February, the food sucks, nurses are 6 the doctor in charge of my delivery was horrible 😢 I ended up having a vaginal and c section delivery of my girls

I delivered two babies there. I have like no experience with hospitals outside of that. Even so I’m sure there’s better hospitals. They force you to stay for like 2-3 days even though we were totally fine on all tests. It’s annoying and I felt trapped and mistrusted. It was torture!

I’m reading all of your comments and I’m just happy I asked first. I am going to capitol womens care too and my doctor is doctor Silver Brooke @Emily I’m hoping I can find a better hospital because I do not want to be traumatized by the experience and I’m not even from the area I’m a Californian so I’m just hoping everything goes smoothly

@Janelle What do you mean by privileges? I want privileges too lol

the doctor that ended up doing the delivery was arguing with nurses about whether my baby would fit through my pelvis. The nurses were encouraging me to do a C-section based on their experience and the doctor kept saying that we should do suction. (Nurses were right) We’re all ok but it was pretty traumatic. It was also peak COVID so only my husband could be there. My friend had a good experience at George Washington with a midwife team there. Like I said, I really liked the nurses at holy cross. But you end up with whatever doctor is on call when you actually deliver so it’s kind of like rolling the dice. I think what matters more than the hospital is that you trust the doctors practice that will be helping to deliver. At least that is what I feel like I learned.

It just means that they can only deliver babies there. I will also only see the drs from my practice (they have one on call at all times) at the hospital. 1000% don’t want a random dr delivering my baby.

I had regular surgery in the past there. I also had my babygirl there and had great nurses and doctors. I heard negativity b4 but I never had any issues.

I had both my kids there. 4 years and 1.5 year ago. I had a good experiences. My nurses was so caring and I’m thankful for them. My room was clean, but the food sucks. My husband always went out and got food lol.

I went to Holy Cross’ ER, and it was the worst experience of my life, but I don’t have experience with their maternity ward. If you have time, go visit the hospitals you are considering delivering at, and they should happily provide a tour of their L&D and maternity wards. I delivered both my sons at Shady Grove. Wonderful experiences each time. One of the best hospitals in the area, and one of the top NICU’s in the country on standby (should you need it).

@Emily Which Capital Women’s Care did you go to?

@Seens Did you have a vaginal birth or a c-section?
