Questions about PRUH

Hi all, I'm pregnant for the first time, 22 weeks now. Looking to find a bit more info on the services at PRUH, before I manage to ask my midwife. Had a couple questions if anyone knows where I can find more info to read up. Firstly, how do you find you King's College ID number from the badger note app? I want to sign up to some of their online info sessions and can't for the life of me find that info. Also, would like to know the conditions for an elective C section- are those covered by NHS or do they happen only in certain situations? Finally, I saw there's a possibility to book a private room for post-partum recovery, and would like to know more about price, and anyone's experience with this. Thanks so much, any contributions are appreciated :) I've recently moved here so haven't interacted with the NHS too much, apologies if my questions are silly or naive!!

Hi Catalina! Erin the chair for the maternity voices partnership for the PRUH here (I’m also an antenatal teacher privately). I can’t help with the ID number but I can ask the midwives at the PRUH. Elective C-section is covered by the NHS and they will do this for you regardless of your reason. Finally no I don’t think you can pay for private rooms as I believe they’re used to isolate anyone who is ill or medically needs a private room (you used to be able to but I don’t believe this is the case anymore).

Also it may be helpful for you to follow @pruhmvp on Instagram or Facebook where I share updates for maternity services at the PRUH xx

Hi hun if you mean your hospital nr it's in my key details on the badgers notes or any letter you have reciecieved and pregnancy notes. As for c section I think you can ask for one as it's your choice how you deliver. And private rooms unfortunately are given on medical need bases and reserved for covid patients. My Bil and his partner were in for 3 days before they were given a private room due to birth complications.

My kings id is on all my appointment letters, top right above NHS number!
