Newborn hates the pram! Advice??

My newborn (nearly 2 weeks old), hates the pram. We use the carry cot attachment. For a bit of background information she just hates lying flat, she only seems to settle when supervised on a round cushion. It takes us forever to settle her in the next to me crib at night and in the day she won't lye in her moses without this cushion. Every time I try to take her out in the pram she starts crying after a short journey and we end up having to carry her home. She will not fall asleep in it at all, she stays wide awake the whole time. We've made sure that she's well fed and new nappy before going out but it hasn't made a difference. Any advice on how to get her to settle, or is it just too early and we need to persevere?

I know it’s hard but She will get used to it. Only other thing I would suggest is if you have the pram part that is a seat but lays flat too? Or does your car seat attach to your pram? Just don’t leave her sleeping in that for more than 90mins. x

Pretty normal! If you need to go anywhere I'd suggest a sling for a bit.

It’s hard but she will get used to it as she needs to learn to get used to it over time x

Is there a reason you can't use like a car seat attachment? That's the only one we have our kids never had issues in it

it really just takes perseverance. things i found helpful: -warm up the cot first with a hot water bottle (obviously remove it before putting baby down). -wear the sheet under your top so it smells like you when she lays on it -swaddling may help with the startle reflex -alternative to swaddling: hold her arms by her side gently while she’s lay down, wait for her to settle and gently remove your hands

Have you had a look into baby wearing? Does baby have reflux? Read up on the 4th Trimester as well.

We had the same issue, we ended up getting a sling until she was big enough to have a seated pram... Now she loves the buggy and she enjoys every time we go out...😅

I take my sling as well, so I don’t have to carry her x

My first was like this - I gave up with the bassinet unless we were out for a long time and mostly used the car seat (luckily our laid flat). I then switched to the seat with newborn insert from about 12 weeks and he was much happier x

Mine was the same. We gave up on the bassinet and ended up using the car seat. Turned out she had silent reflux and birth trauma. Got much better after a couple of visits to the osteopath and going dairy free.

My first was like this. Buy (or hire) yourself a sling 💛

Yeah I have to wear mine everywhere, it's exhausting. A good carrier is a godsend though. He also hates the car seat so that's not an option either 😂 my first just slept in both so it's completely thrown me that this one doesn't like them!!

Mine hatedddddd being in carry cot or being flat. We rolled up 2 cellular blankets and put either side so she felt more secure and over a week she didn’t cry. We moved to sit up bit of oram as SOON as she fitted

My daughter was the same and it genuinely felt like we (I’d have to carry her) were taking the pram out for a walk from like 2 months to 5 months. I tried getting a 15 degree incline cushion in the bassinet which increased her tolerance from 0 to 2 mins and in the end I changed to the seat just before she turned 5 months and had it on full recline and it made the world of difference.
