Breastfeeding and liver enzymes

I had a randomly elevated level of liver enzyme but when I got tested a week later it was better, I’m still breastfeeding

My liver enzymes are really high because I had ICP and they haven’t lowered yet. Could this also be because of breastfeeding? What’s the link? X

@Ceri what are your numbers? I’m not sure 🤔 I’m 9 months pp and only now are they just leveling out. I still breastfeed too.

Were yours raised because of icp too? What made you check your liver enzymes? Not sure on my exact numbers but I’ve been referred to the liver specialist for more investigations… there’s been no talk of breast feeding to make it worse though? So not sure if it affects them? X

@Ceri I had routine blood work 5 months pp and that was the only thing abnormal. No I didn’t have ICP. I did hear that prenatal vitamins could elevate your liver enzymes. I got off those and then rechecked my liver recently and it’s almost back to normal. Did you have an ultrasound ?

Oh that’s interesting! Did the dr mention breastfeeding? Yes I had a liver scan when I was pregnant and all looked okay! Definitely had some pain though now I’m pp x
