Newborn not waking up for feed in the night

My little girl who is 3 weeks old, has not woken up for feed second night in the row.. she slept 6 hrs without feeding and my alarm did not wake me up after 3 hrs.. so she had last feed at 11pm and then I woke up at 5am :( she was still sound a sleep. Wet nappy has not woken her up either. Of course when I start changing the nappy she woke up and was her usual self so no worries there.. My worry is about length of time without feeding :( will she be okay?

Hello! My HV said that if the baby is over their birth weight then they no longer need to be woken up for feeds xx

Personally, I believe never wake a baby up. The baby will let you know when hungry so if she’s sleeping during night enjoy the time and get yourself some rest x

Thank Jesus/Allah/whomever and enjoy your sleep for the rest of us! 3weeks and over birth weight you're good to follow baby's lead! I'm so jealous lol.

According to our pediatrician the reason to wake very young newborns to feed is because before they are about 2 weeks old their hunger won’t wake them up and if their blood sugar gets too low it will actually make them even sleepier so you can get a baby who has very low blood sugar in a sleepy spiral where they are too sleepy to eat. But that’s not really a thing once they’re more than 2 weeks old if they are hungry, they will wake up. Enjoy your sleep.

She'll wake when she's hungry
