Don't worry, he'll come back to contact naps! His sleep will "ebb and flow" overtime.
If you haven't yet.. try to baby wear, my son wasn't very cuddly but loved his carrier
They will come back! My boy only contact napped until maybe 6 weeks old then did not contact nap for ANYTHING lol for like a month or two. Made me sooooo sad 😭 probs around 2.5/3 months he started and no we are exclusively contact nappers with no break 🤪😂x
I'm having the opposite issue...won't nap off me at all!
My little one is like yours, has always been happy to sleep on his own with the occasional request for a contact nap as a newborn. Once he hit 10 weeks the world got very stimulating and he needs me to rock him when he's over tired, so I can steal a contact nap then. I'm sure he will come around to them again.
Some babies just aren’t cuddle babies. I wouldn’t force it too much. Definitely try but if it stress baby out or makes them cry a ton then I wouldn’t push it. It’ll be good for later in life when you need to put them down but it definitely can be sad now. Make sure you and baby aren’t too hot. My daughter likes to nap when my chest is exposed but not really if I have a shirt on so maybe just try different things
Whilst contact nappy is lovely it can also be really hard to break away from when you are trying to train them to sleep by themselves. Try just having cuddles and contact when he's awake instead. You be grateful for it later when he can sleep and your hands are free
@Michaela so totally agree. My boy is 9 months and as much as I absolutely love contact naps and snuggles sometimes it can be hard to get anything done. And my nurse tells me it’s absolutely great if they are happy to sleep On there own - it’s showing independence at an early age
Oh wow 😯 my son is 9 months old and I find it hard to put him down. He is obsessed with cuddles and laying next to him. Has to be touching me or daddy. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad thing. Perhaps cuddle and stroke and rock
