Pineapple? Safe or avoid?

Okay, I have been LOVING fruit lately and have been eating so much pineapple, but my friend who is pregnant just told me it’s not safe to eat? Google has conflicting answers so I don’t know what to believe!

You’re fine :) I ate a lot of pineapple. You really have to eat tons and tons and tons of it to do anything. Pineapple was one of my cravings.

When I was pregnant they said no to pineapple even my midwife advised against it when I asked, so I just avoided it altogether x

It’s safe, it’s an old wives’ tale that you can’t eat it during pregnancy

This is the list the NHS give us in the UK of foods to avoid during pregnancy, pineapple isn’t on it https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/keeping-well/foods-to-avoid/

I ate pineapple every morning during my pregnancy

my midwife said it’s safe! not even eating it at the end of pregnancy would soften your cervix enough to cause early labor

If you pregnant you can’t eat pineapple

It is safe. I think they said the amount of pineapple it would actually take to induce labor is an amount nobody is ever naturally going to eat. I’m sure a couple wedges a day is no biggie.

Yes I think you can eat it when you almost in labor because it help you . But I don’t know about the 1 trimester

For clarification I am 10 weeks pregnant.

@Kerbie I ate pineapple during my whole pregnancy 😬

Lmao idk who said you can’t eat pineapples you literally have to eat like 6 of them to cause labor 🤣

@Ona 😅 I've never heard of this. I heard sex, curry and squats help with labour (me and my partner had a curry and sex the night before) I think it definitely caused the labour

I read it’s not good cause of the acids in there

It's safe. My OB-GYN recommends reading "What to Expect When You're Expecting" as it outlines what you should be eating when pregnant effectively.
