Yes I had the pessary in overnight I was having mild contractions like period/back pain but every 2 minutes most of the 24 hours and my cervix was still closed. I then had 2 lots of gel after having both I was still having contractions but as it got to the end of the 6 hours sometimes they’d slow down. By the end of the pessary and the two gels I was 1cm. Contractions stopped and started throughout that day then my water broke and they picked up. I went on to have a spontaneous vaginal delivery x

I was the same - I then had gel inserted twice every 6 hours but they weren’t happy with babies heart rate so they broke my waters and had the hormone drip 😴 only dilated to 3cm after 12 hours so I went for c-section to find out my little boy was 11lb 3oz so not so little 😂 but it explains why I wasn’t getting anywhere

@Dayna 😱 what a chunk, I think your vagina might be grateful that he decided to be born that way haha x

@Ashleigh Definitely 😂 I was in hospital for 5 days for the whole process but worth it in the end x

Yes the 24 hour just didn’t work for me and the 6 hour gel bought on more consistent contractions, induction is so so hard and ask for all the pain relief you need do not feel like you can’t! I had Emergency C-section after 4 days of popping waters, hormone drip ect as her head swelled and heart rate was erratic and they felt she was not going to come, she measured 9lbs4oz so was on the bigger side as well! Xx

Same thing here. Pessary at midnight Sunday/monday. Contracting too much for the gel 24 hours later and wasn't even 1cm so had one lot of gel 9am next day (Tuesday). Contracting too many times for more gel at 3. Contracting too much for more gel at all yesterday. On monitor now at 6am Wed. No contractions 🤦🙈 I really hope it's not much longer hut definitely feeling deflated xx

@Sophie I just had another sweep. I am contacting so I can’t have the gel either. I am absolutely exhausted. It is not easy

@Amy As bad as it sounds I'm glad someone else is struggling too! Makes you feel not alone. It's hard work🙈hopefully it starts to go the right way for both of us and we get to meet our little ones soon 💜xx

@Sophie it is such a struggle! I am ready for her to be out and go home now. Hopefully today is the day for both of us 🤞🏻xx

I’m the exact same! Yesterday was so painful, 1cm and waiting for waters to be broken - had a fab nights sleep and feel competely normal today lol. Feels disheartening BUT also feeling rested and relaxed which can’t be a bad thing going into what the day will be like today! ♥️

Have you been laying or using ball etc? I’m being induced today but not going for hormone drip x

I’m going in to be induced tomorrow. It’s so hard to know what to take with you when it could take days!

Bless you. You can do it mama. X

On day 3...depending on how far away from the hospital you are your partner or whomever can always bring in stuff and take away the dirty. Sent him home with some washing yesterday 😂 xx

I had a pessary which gave me a little bit of pain and tightenings. It didn't do anything though, so I had 2 6 hour gels which got me dilated enough to have my waters popped. I had my waters popped, still nothing so I got put on the drip and went onto have a vaginal delivery. I was 38 weeks at the time of being induced, not dilated at all so really it should have failed but it worked! Don't lose hope. I almost asked for a c section I was so fed up x

@Bethany Omg I was at that point last night of asking for a c section! I just wanna get to the point of waters being broken lol. Hope OP is doing OK! Xx

@Sophie inductions are mentally challenging! You're on a ward seeing other people go to delivery ward because their waters have burst or they're in active labour. I watched so many people come and go... once my waters were broken I felt relieved things were finally happening xx

Hello, yes I went in at 8am Saturday to behind I I had the gel at 9.30 which started contractions at around 10.30am they went on all day but only mild and I wasn’t dilating but because I was contracting they wouldn’t give me another gel. I was then examined again in the evening and given the next gel as I was still only 1cm so they gave me the 2nd gel then again at 4am Sunday morning which started the mild contractions again. By the afternoon I was still only 1cm so they decided I could go and have my waters broken to try to start Labour I was waiting to be moved round when all of a sudden my back waters went! That instantly started the intensity of the contractions off. They went at 3.30pm I went round to my delivery room, they broke the main waters for me then within the hour I was in full Labour and my son was born at 5.08 Monday morning. It was a very long weekend but my time in Frimley Park Hospital was amazing I cannot fault them at all hopefully you will have your baby soon ❤️
