Moses basket worth it??

Hi all I’ve ordered a next2me crib for baby’s overnight sleeps but I was wondering if a moses basket is worth it for those daytime sleeps/naps? I know some people use a snuzpod but I have heard some safety concerns about overheating etc. so what would you ladies recommend?

I found having a Moses basket downstairs very useful, although ours was borrowed so we didn’t have to pay for it. We also used it for overnight sleep for a while as our daughter wouldn’t settle in the next to me, but would in the Moses after we got past the having to hold her for her to sleep stage.

I bought a Moses basket for downstairs more because the dog wouldn’t leave her alone when she was in her sleepy head! She absolutely hated it! Would not sleep in it at all where as her next to me crib she slept fine in! I think it’s because in the Moses basket they can’t see out the sides like a next to me crib. But for me a Moses basket was useless, I just put her in her sleepyhead on the sofa and put the dog gate around her to get the dog to leave her alone x

We didn’t have a Moses basket but ended up using the pram bassinet downstairs. I would probably get a Moses basket next time, but look for a larger one, some of them are tiny and they will outgrow it in a couple of months

If you do get a Moses basket I would suggest buying one second hand of like Facebook as they are small and your baby will probs only use it for a few months!

We personally didn’t use the Moses basket very much! Spent £70 buying a brand new ‘rocking’ one and baby slept and relaxed better in the next to me! I think because she couldn’t see us through the sides that might be why! Personally we found next to me best! X

We had a moses basket for downstairs and it was totally worth it for us but we’ve only just stopped using it as our baby is coming up to 5 months so her day time naps are now in her cot ☺️. I think if you plan to have more children maybe spend the money so you can re use it, we would like more if we can but I don’t think you need it necessarily. I never knew that about the snuzpod because that’s the one I have 😅. But my baby has never had any issues with over heating or anything like that, shes incredibly settled in it ☺️ one side zips down so it’s as if she’s right next to me but she’s safe in her own little space 🫶🏽

We got a Moses basket for downstairs & it was useless as my little one hated it. She loved her next2me crib as the sides weren’t as high as what they were in the Moses basket, & she loves to watch what’s going on - even now 🤭🥰 if you have a pram, you could just use the bassinet attachment potentially x

My little one is 4 months tomorrow and we use the Moses basket downstairs everyday I love it! Especially if you have a dog as we have quite a big one so this was a main point for me my little boy always snoozes in it throughout the day and it makes doing stuff so much easier xx

Moses basket has been the best thing I’ve bought. Didn’t have one with my first and it’s been brilliant for my second. So useful

We didn’t actually get a Moses basket we just got a next to me and then we did end up getting a Moses basket when baby was born as she didn’t seem to settle well in then to me I think it was too big for her and she didn’t feel comfortable in it x

Yeh i love having a moses downstairs for somewhere safe to put baby down and for daytime naps. N2M upstairs

Had a Moses basket and used it for months - baby hated the snuz pod at first as it was too much space and we found it really convenient to have baby downstairs with us and then just carry the basket and stand up to bed with us without disturbing her.

We weren’t going to get a Moses basket but changed our minds right before baby was born - which was the best decision, we used it so much! We got the snuz baskit one, which is bigger than the average Moses basket and so lasted us much longer

I had a Moses basket for day time use and my son loved it as a newborn we actually ended up using it for over nights aswell as he seemed to sleep a lot better in that than in his next to me in the beginning. I’d definitely recommend I’ve kept mine for if I’m ever to have another child x

@Bryony I second this. My girl was the exact same

We just used the carry cot part of the pram for downstairs and the Bouncer. Save yourself the money! They outgrow moses baskets so quickly!
