I have 2 muscle mats, the beige and light grey. Easy to keep clean the first 4-5 months as I’d use the Bissell spot cleaner if anything bad got on it. I have 2 greyhounds and I’ve got so slack at cleaning it, I do vacuum the bigger one the dogs walk over each morning otherwise Bub gets a face of black dog hairs! The small stains currently on it aren’t actually that visible but I’m going to borrow my aunties big Bissell carpet cleaner to give it a good go over. I don’t know anything about the mellow mats, assume they are very similar, but muscle mats often offer 15% off.
Same as above, I have a muscle mat. Easy to clean, but clean it straight away if you spill anything like milk etc. I have it in dark grey, but I feel the colour has almost a tinge of blue? But love it overall, I would repurchase again. It’s so soft and good for babies.
@Charlie where did you get that from?
@Angie it’s from Little Nation :)
I have the mellow mat lux in navy blue. It’s comfy enough to sleep on and I haven’t even added the underlay yet. Super easy to clean. Even when my sick baby vomited on it yesterday it was a quick clean up. I believe Mellow Mat is a bit more plush, otherwise very similar.
Neither. We got the mellow mat just over a year ago and it is in a high traffic area and has lost its spongy-ness so you can see the tracks and has little tears all over in spots. We'll personally be buying a proper plush rug next time with an underlay.
We have a mellow mat lux in light grey and has been Ah-mazing!!!!! Super soft and easy to clean (have really just used baby wipes so far) everyone that's come over comments how nice and soft it is. I looked at both and I think they are pretty similar mellow mat had a sale at the time we got ours. We vacuum ours with our Dyson and it's no issue. One of the best things we've bought for bub 😍
I have both, and my muscle mat is thicker and seems more durable, whereas the mellow mat is thinner and seems very flimsy. I will be selling it and keeping my mellow mat. We have a dark blue muscle mat And a grey mellow mat
I got mine from Amazon, way more affordable. We got olive green. We vacuum it with our robovax and had no issues.
I got the designer one in October, it’s got one cut in it already, their warranty states that to get a replacement you have to cut up your mat before they’ll even send a new one.. I’m not sure I like that. It’s extremely hard to wash/keep clean if in a high traffic area, mine is light grey and I’m on it all day. The best I’ve found so far is hosing it off, however I got the 3m one so once it’s wet it’s extremely heavy to move, and won’t dry within the day if not over 35 degrees They always have a sale on, minimum 30% but you can get upto 33% All in all though I love playing with bub on the mat and it’s very soft, i just don’t like how dirty it gets with surface dirt (not even stains) and I vacuum it daily 🤷🏻♀️
Pure plush is essentially the same as muscle mat just cheaper. Just don’t get any fluffy version as it’s a bit harder to clean and shows the wear more. Also make sure you vacuum your mat before you use it as sometimes there’s dust (which I was allergic to, it was fine after a vacuum though)
@Jenessa which ond is the one you don’t like and will be selling? Thank youu
Thanks all for your comments 🫶🏻 we plan to put it in bibs playpen so only he will use it, we do have two cats so thanks all for recommendations on vacuuming it😅
@Mel thanks! Out of interest which bisell spot cleaner do you have? Is it worth it? Was also planning on buying one because of our cats

I will be selling the mellow mat brand, my muscle mat brand is so much better and softer
It’s called Bissell spot clean carpet cleaner on the good guys website I think I actually got it at JB hi fi (the purple one but there may be a newer one now). It’s so handy I used it heaps before I had Bub so definitely recommend.
This thread is so timely as we're looking into getting one too. Just a question for @Jenessa how long do you have your Muscle and Mellow mats for? I'm just wondering how they both hold up over time.
I have the muscle mat in dark grey and we love it. Few things to consider (just from my perspective) I have a GSD and fur gets stuck in it non stop as it's thicker, none of my robovacs will go on it (I think once in a blue moon, otherwise they'll refuse) so it's a manual vacuum 😂
