Baby refusing bottles at daycare

My little girl(7.5m) started daycare this week and after the first day she started refusing bottles. She'll eat all the purees just fine and drink water from a sippy cup but refuses milk in a bottle. She's breastfed but was accepting bottles when my husband fed her at home for the past 2 months... But when he tried to feed her yesterday, she refused the bottle at home as well. I'm now wondering if this is daycare related or is it developmental?

She’s rebelling against the bottle. My daughter will do that if someone tries to force the bottle too hard. She’ll refuse everything until after a nap then she’ll nurse. She just stated daycare 3 weeks ago and refused bottles prior to starting (even from my husband). She’s still refusing sometimes. I think I’ll have to stop nursing her at home for her to complete her use to the bottle.

@Haley 💚 she was taking bottles just fine prior to starting daycare and on the first day of daycare she finished all 4 oz (at least that's what they reported) but every day after that she refused so I'm wondering if they tried to force her to drink it the first day causing her to refuse it now..

@Elena could be and it just could be that she needs a little time to adjust.

It's possible..I hope it's just that

I’d talk to them. My baby developed a bad bottle aversion from my husband and I pressuring him to eat for months (he’s a preemie and had issues with weight gain). Knowing now how sensitive babies can be to pressure, we’ve had to completely revise our methods of feeding him to make sure he doesn’t feel pressured, and his bottle aversion has mostly resolved. I read Rowena Bennett’s book about bottle aversion and it made a big difference in our lives. After reading it I talked to his teacher at daycare and told her no pressure at all to finish bottles and they’ve been good about it.

My baby did this when we started daycare, we tried everything. Once i cut the night feedings he drank his bottles perfectly.

@McKenzi Jacobs I might slowly implement this. She was waking up frequently last night for feeds which is understandable given that she barely drank any milk throughout the day
