Carrycot/pram for safe sleeping overnight

So we’re going away for 3 nights and with everything we need for the baby I don’t know if we’ll have room for a travel cot, I was wondering if the pram could be used just for 3 nights? My lo wakes every 3 hours so would get breaks from being in there… I have the nuna mixx next which says it’s safe for occasional over night but the stand isn’t available in the UK… don’t want to use it if it’s unsafe but can’t seem to find a definitive answer online

How old is your baby? If LO is a tall baby it might be a bit uncomfortable. I’m not sure, my LO is a chunk at 4 months and loves to toss and turn so the pram for overnight sleep would be a nightmare. Is co-sleeping a big no for you? 3 nights seems a bit much to me, but play around and see if she’d be comfortable by trying it out one night?

We’ve gone for the Oyster 3 travel system, I did a lot of research as a paranoid first time parent and then trying it out in the store I found that the carry cot has a built in rocker when you take off the feet. But I’m sure there’s LOTS of options that others will suggest as well ☺️

Check the pram company q&as - most carry cots are not safe for overnight sleeping. They will specifically say. The icandy peach are. Its due to the size and fabrics being breathable. If its not, definitely worth a travel cot

He will be 10 weeks when we go, he will sleep in it during the day after a walk comfortably, co-sleeping won’t be an option as it’s my 30th I will be having a cocktail or two one of the nights so wouldn’t want to risk it co-sleeping Ah thanks I’ll have a look on the pram co.

I’ve read that you should not use carry cot / pram for long periods of sleeping. Might have something to do with the mattress. I was told this from a fellow pregnant colleague who done a class around safe sleeping. Hope this helps. Look on fb market for Moses basket if money is tight, I’ve seen some really cheap stuff on there. Or just buy a travel cot which I believe are relatively cheap from Argos (if you’re UK based) c

Sorry, just re-read. It says on the website for the carrycot not to leave the baby unattended, which usually means even if you are in the room but asleep as you cannot monitor. But then it says not safe for long term sleeping, which suggests occasionally its okay - i think they are intentionally being ambiguous to cover their arse. There is a question section of the website so maybe contact them directly and ask outright if its safe for 3 nights?

Unless by long term they’re referring to amount of hours, instead of permanently using it as a source for sleeping. Xx

I let me little one sleep in his pram when we go to my parents as he doesn’t like sleeping in a big travel cot yet. I only feel safe doing it because our travel systems carry cot attachment has ventilation you open at the back to allow for safe sleep. We also stick to the other safe sleep rules of flat / hard surface etc. personally I’d say three nights with a non ventilated carry cot would cause me to not be able to sleep xx

Thanks everyone I’ll get a Moses basket, not worth the risk!
