@Amy thanks, I think I'm just panicking because the trust website says I should have had my C-section consultant meeting last week, but I had my birth consultant the day before the growth scan debacle. But I did see the anaesthetist whilst in hospital, which I also know is a step, so they know what to inject me with because I'm an anaesthetic sponge apparently. I saw a Reddit post earlier where people were saying to call the triage centre to ask for their booking, but she was a bit further along than I was. I did see my community midwife on Friday and stated very clearly that I no longer want my natural birth option, that after everything I'd just like to book the date and be done with it. So I'm hoping it's on the doctor's side of Badger and I just can't see it on my end. (Because I know there are extensive notes by my birth consultant, but I can't see those anywhere for some reason)
In my previous pregnancy and the current one I had the same problem: baby not in position but lying across. they will talk to you after a further scan at 37 weeks and if baby still not engaged you might be asked to stay in hospital just for safety ( I have been in hospital for the last 10 days). If baby is growing properly they will ask you to wait until 39 weeks, if baby is still not in position by then you have 2 options: 1. arrange for c section or 2. they can try to manipulate baby to move them in position and try the birth you want. However they will discuss with you to your next scan. Do not panic, everything will be all right and they will keep monitoring you. Good luck!
Im sure my baby is unstable lie but midwives won't listen as at all my appointments he is head down (not engaged) but I feel him move to transverse very frequently. They told me they wouldn't worry till 37 weeks anyway but I am 36+2 so not far off.. I know how you feel in terms of the anxiety about going into labour with a transverse baby! I would wait for your scan. They could also offer to move baby manually if not head down. In the mean time if you have a ball get bouncing! Ultimately it'll be your decision and they will give you the info so you can make an informed decision! Xx
There’s still time for baby to move to a new position lovely, so try not to panic until you’ve had your next scan. I know it’s hard, we’re going through something with this pregnancy that although the worst worst case scenario should be really low risk as it’s usually in more section pregnancies not just the first it’s still at the back of my mind always and will be until my scan in a couple of weeks but I’m trying to remain hopeful that everything will of changed and moved. Could you get in touch with your midwife to discuss your worries and concerns? She might be able to reassure you until you have your scan? Would using a birthing ball help with positioning at all? When my first was breach the recommended sitting on a ball and doing the exercises to try and encourage him to turn, perhaps you could try that between now and the end? Fingers crossed that baby moves to a better position for you 🤍
