Flying with British airways

Has anyone travelled with BA recently and if so, did you have to bring a certificate with you? Most airlines do require one from around 28 weeks, but just noticed that according to BA the certificate it's needed when pregnant but doesn't say from When Travelling with them this Saturday and now panicking as my GP won't issue one. Thanks!

Hi have flown on two holidays this last month and it's usually fine up until 36 weeks, check the airline criteria x

Sorry actually that doesn't help, can you ask your midwife x

I travelled with BA when I was 18 weeks and didn’t need anything

You can do them through an ‘online GP’ as most surgeries don’t do them any more. Might be better to be safe than sorry as I don’t think they are very expensive xx

Thanks!

I’m traveling with BA on Monday and have booked a fit to fly assessment at my GP. I had to pay for it. I’ll be 27 weeks.

I’m flying with Emirates and their policy is you can fly as normal up until 29 weeks. I fly back at 28+6 so just make it but I did ask my midwife for a fit to fly just in case. She said it’s highly unlikely anyone will ask but it depends how you’re showing. She also said most airlines require them to be dates in the last two weeks but I’ve not read that in any airline guidance!

I just came back from a holiday flying with BA (I was 26/27 weeks). I took a note with me, but they never asked for anything xx

Thank you everyone!

Did they end up asking for one from you? I’m the the same situation GP and midwife won’t issue me one x

@Hannah No, they didn't. I was going to pay for a private one online, but decided that unless I was really pregnant I don't think they would ask
