10 month olds sleeping ALOT

This is not something I would ever think I’d say but my twins are sleeping for 14 hours almost every night and it’s starting to worry me. We put them to bed between 6 and 7 pm and they used to wake up between 6am and 8am and take two 1-2 hour naps everyday. However, for the past week they have been waking up between 9:30 and 10:30 am and taking one 3ish hour nap a day. Is this a growth spurt? I’m not really that worried because they seem healthy and happy but I’ve just never heard of a baby sleeping that long straight and I guess I’m just wondering if anyone has

14 hours is a totally normal amount for a 10 month old to sleep. You shouldn’t see a decrease in their hours of sleep per day until 1-2 years when their needed sleep/day is 11-14 hrs instead of 12-16 hrs. My little is 10mos and gets about 2.5-3 hrs of daytime sleep and 11-11.5 hrs of night sleep

I may have read that wrong though, if you’re saying they’re sleeping 14hrs just for nighttime sleep, I would cap their nighttime sleep at 12 hours to make sure they’re tired enough to get the recommended amount of daytime sleep

Lucky!

I kinda wish o was having this problem I can’t figure out how to get my 11 mo son to sleep for more than eight hours a night but he takes 2-3 hour nap daytime… that eight hours of sleep consists of 5-8 wake up for 10-30 min before going back to sleep..

@Melanie right 😭 it’s nice but like a little weird

@Bre yeah it’s crazy like 16-18 hours a day! 14-16 at night and 2-3 hours during the day. They haven’t been struggling with naps at all too

@Leonine haha I was hesitant posting this because I didn’t wanna piss off those with babies who aren’t sleeping well but I get so nervous when they’re still asleep and I wake up at 9:30/10 am 😭

@Keyara ugh I’m so sorry. If it gives you any hope that was us last month🫶🏻

@Mary if they’re healthy let them sleep! Lol

Sleep is so important. Their brains and body are growing. My son is about 12 hrs m. Their still young it will become less as time goes on

@Mary I really hope it changes fast!! I can tell that’s hard for him during the day but won’t sleep until mid afternoon so I hope he can get better sleep at night!
