Nuby rapid cool

Morning Mums I bought the Nuby yesterday. Use once in 3hrs. Baby feeds every 2. Has anyone used before the 3hr wait time is up? Also - when going out - You take the Nuby. Do you take a flask of boiling or how’s this work? 😂 Thanks!

I've not used them sooner than the 3hours so can't help with that bit, Do you have the nuby flask too? We take the flask of boiling water and put the nuby lid on the flask to ensure the boiling water is still hot enough, then pour the water into the rapid cool, add powder and then shake as advised 😊

@Amy legend. Thank you! Only just got it out the box. I don’t have the Nuby flask - but I’ve been using a thermos and doing the hot shot method for about 2-3 weeks now. It’s all learning isn’t it! Thank you 🤎🧸

@Hayley We used an ordinary flask the other day and provided it's obviously still boiling hot it'll be fine 😊 We use them for night feeds so use from kettle, they're a god send 🤩 Certainly is, such a minefield!

@Amy that’s what I do 👶🏼🍼

We use the hot shot method with the nuby rapid cool when out so it doesn't need sterilising after each use x

@Shareace hi. So what does this entail please as I use 40ml hot and 50ml cooled boiling for this?? Thanks 🍼

@Shareace I’d like to know more about this too. So you don’t put the formula in the rapid cool then? You just use it purely for cooling down the water? Then pour water into bottle with formula? Sorry if I’ve misunderstood.

@Charlotte https://www.tiktok.com/@emmajaneoleary/video/7098049941595114758?lang=en Wondering if this is it?

@Charlotte yeah that's it. I measure the formula and put it into pots. Then a flask of boiling water and measure an oz or so into the bottle add the formula and stir it. Put boiling water in the rapid cool and shake and then add it to make the oz/mls that I want. So I fill both flasks with boiling water, measure the formula into pots and have empty bottles in the bag x

@Charlotte also make sure you put the boiling water into the bottle first then the formula so it doesn't go lumpy at the bottom x

@Shareace makes me almost wish my boobs managed to get breast milk 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Dreamy. Thanks xx

Can’t answer the 3 hour part as I haven’t had to do that, yet! I was actually thinking of purchasing another Nuby for when I do need to do it earlier than 3 hours. I make 2 bottles from each use (120ml each) which is the maximum the Nuby makes. When going out, I take a flask of boiling water, the empty Nuby, and a container with formula. My baby is happy with lukewarm/room temp milk so there is no need for me to do the hot shot method. I also don’t add formula to the Nuby, I add the formula once I’ve poured the water into the bottles (this is only because she’s on CMPA milk which needs to be made with room temp water).

@Ellie we have rapid cools that hold 240ml each. I believe there are two sizes as we came across this when looking to purchase.

We were not aware of the 3 hour reset in between feeds and so we have used ours under that time but we use the cold water steriliser in between so I believe this resets it anyway compared to when using steam, might be wrong though. Ours has still been getting to the right temperature

@Zoe the digital lids can’t go into a steam steriliser as it’ll break them. Been advised to use cold water on them. I’d imagine the 3 hours is an absolute maximum. But for the price of them I’d be too scared to take the risk incase it shortened the life of them 😂😬

@Ellie ahhh I see - so you make up 2 with the Nuby water & one will be a little cooler when baby drinks it. Thank you! I’m learning something new daily - then there’s more to learn 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Zoe thank you. I read on a Facebook group that others ARE using them under 3hrs. I’ve not even washed mine yet - I’m still a bit clueless with using it 😂

I sometimes have to use mine under 3 hours and it’s fine it just takes a little longer to cool down. Usually only takes 30 seconds or so but if used earlier than 3 hours can take up to 2 minutes to get green light x

@Lottie ace, thank you 🍼🍼🍼

@Hayley usually I give one straight away, and allow the other to cool on the kitchen counter and put it in the fridge for the next feed. I heat it up again by putting it in a mug of boiling water for 5-10 mins. Made up bottles of formula can stay in the fridge for 24 hours. Also, a lifesaver for me has been taking the following to the bedroom at nighttime: 2-3 sterilised bottles, empty Nuby, freshly boiled water in a flask, tub of formula. It means I don’t have to go to the kitchen at night to make bottles 🙌🏼

@Ellie yes I’ve been taking to bed 1x 30 min pre boiled cooled water & 1 thermos of hot. I tend to make 3 bottles up around 7pm / put them in the fridge & have them ready for from 7am but some disagree with this. Bar these 3 bottles the rest are flask hot shots … so wondering why I bought the Nuby now 😂

@Hayley I’ve always pre made bottles too, it makes life easier and baby has been fine! The Nuby will be helpful for you when you go out, it takes away some of the anxiety of where you’re gonna make a bottle etc. and also just good to have it there for a small top up bottle if baby is still hungry x

@Ellie thank you. So just make sure I fill enough for the warm one & the leftover one whilst out 🍼🍼
