How do you know if your water broke?

Is it a lot of water that comes out or it’s a slow leak ?

Depends on where it breaks. For me, mine broke low. I shifted in a chair and felt a quick sharp pain, and then it gushed out. It also then continued to intermittently gush out over a few hours

They broke mine for me but when they did it was a constant flow of fluids

Thank you ladies this is my first time being pregnant and yesterday was my due date. I was unsure if it’s just a lil bit of water or a lot.

Mine was a slow leak but I know everyone is different.

I felt a pop and then a huge gush of water

It can be either. Some go into labor without water breaking at all!

Slow leak for me

The ones with the slow leak did you guys go to the hospital?

@Dee did you end up going to the hospital? Did you start feeling contractions?

@Katlyn did you end up going to the hospital and did you start to feel any contractions after?

@Stacy it was with my first child. No I didn’t feel contractions, It took me 12hrs to go into active labor. My water broke 10/11am in the morning. I ended up going later on in the night because her dad refused to take me until he picked up his friend from work🙄 I was ok and walking around like nothing happened. It would come out it very small gushes like I was peeing on myself lol. No contractions until active labor started instantly at 10pm that night. I went from nothing to 3-5 minutes apart instantly

It was 2 in the morning and I was scared and confused especially when I saw pink so I did go to the hospital and they confirmed it was amniotic fluid. They had to induce contractions cause I was only a centimeter dilated.

Mine was just a wet underwear. I didn’t know if it was my water until I saw my OB next day and she immediately sent me to the hospital.

I noticed the first wet underwear at 7 pm and had dr. Appointment next day at 11:30 and my baby was born at 10:04 pm that day. FYI I didn’t feel any thing when my water broke or even when dr sent me your hospital. I pray for a healthy baby and easy and quick delivery for you!!

Everyone is different and only about 10% of womens waters break For me i stood up and felt a huge gush, like nothing i ever felt before and i knew

Mine was slow leaking

Slow leak for me

Mine was slow because the top of the bag broke. And the 2nd time, it hardly came out because the baby’s head was blocking the flow of water.

You should call your doctor as soon as they open tomorrow to go in and get tested to see if it was water or not. I didn’t think mine was and it was. Best to get checked for the safety of you and baby.

I went into labour without it breaking at all, once I started pushing it broke and it was a lot so not hard to miss

When my broke. I woke up and my underwear was wet. Hopefully not TMI. But I put my fingers down in-between my legs and felt wet on my thighs. So I felt inside my vagina and it was really wet and definitely felt softer and squishier. I don't know how to explain it. I got up and went to the bathroom and cleaned myself up. When I wiped there was a very light pink tinge to my toilet paper. After a little bit of walking around, my underwear was wet again. So I put on a pad and could feel the pad getting squishy. But then the bleeding got a lot darker, faster. My midwife says that's typical when women go into labor and dilate really fast. My labor was 2 hours from waking up until he was born.

Thank you ladies for sharing your personal experience and stories. I ended up going to the hospital because I was unsure but nothing yet. I truly appreciate y’all’s feedback.
