Co sleeping (same bed) transitioning to crib

So I’ve been co sleeping with my 6 Month old for about 4ish months. I am now trying to move her to the crib. I am not having much luck and I’m looking for suggestions. When I go to my mom’s house we put blankets and cushions on the floor for her “bed” and she sleeps just fine by herself. At my house should I put her mattress on the ground so she gets used to the mattress before moving her to the crib? Please help with any suggestions or books.

You could just straight up move her to a floor bed. It seems a bit early but some people just put their babies in a floor bed from the beginning

Or alternatively what I did after I got stuck co-sleeping for a bit was take the side off the crib and push it up against my bed so it was kind of just an extension of our bed

@Bree ooh okay , I’ll definitely see if my crib can do that! Thanks for both your ideas

Hope you figure it out soon!

That's exactly what I did too. Took the one railing off the crib and put it next to the bed. Gives you the closeness but you can also have baby sleeping in their own space.

My friend did that but she zapped strapped the bed and crib together so it wouldn’t slide and baby couldn’t accidentally fall between the crack in between if one of the mattresses shifted. Good for you for trying now. My son had some tears trying to adjust at 6 months so I gave up and now he’s 18 months and I have such poor sleep co sleeping on the floor mattress with him due to his tossing and turning, I wish we had tried earlier! Good luck ❤️

I co slept for at least 6 months until my baby was 11 months and then just slept trained her in a regular crib with the mattress on the lowest setting. After 3 nights, she was fine

@Penny Thanks, so far she fusses quite a bit if she’s not co sleeping but fingers crossed. I go back to school September and some classes don’t end till 10 so I’d miss bedtime so wanna get her trained so she can sleep by herself.
