Tugging and grunting while breastfeeding

I’ve noticed recently that my newborn will pull at my nipple and stretch it but not let go and make grunting noises but again not let go while I’m breastfeeding. Not sure what that means??

Mine does it all the time too! I’ve been told it’s to help stimulate the milk. Sometimes it’s like he’s going to pull my nipple off though! 😂

It’s completely normal, my 3mo still does this just then trying to get the milk, when boobs are empty their never really empty so to say, baby just needs to work a lot harder to get it from the back, and sometimes they get frustrated (this is how a professional explained it to me)

Trying to stimulate a let down, normal but very painful 😂 my LG now likes to grab my boob right by the nipple and push it away while also pulling up with her mouth...that really tests the elasticity of my areola and nipple!!

Super normal! My 8 month old still does it, gets distracted sometimes and sprays both of us in the face 😂

@Erin mine gets himself in the face all the time 😂🤦‍♀️ I keep telling him he’ll learn one day hahah
