Breastfeeding

Hi everyone, how are you dealing with the biting if your bub has a tooth or two? Definitely ripping my soul apart. 😭😂 I don't want to stop BF.

hey darl as a first time BF mum of a bub who got his first teeth at 3 mths, now 8 mths old. i found try not reacting to much (i know it is harder to do then say😭😂) but if they don’t get a reaction they are less likely to do it, depending on age they may think it’s funny. but realistically bubs don’t realise what they are doing as you got to remember having teeth are new to them and they are still learning how to use/ adjusting to them. just keep trying and push through. but if it gets to much try nipple shields, personally i haven’t had to use them so i can’t give you a recommendation on what ones to use. but it is an option available for you. keep your chin up hunny it will get better eventually, sending you lots of luck with your BF journey. i really hope this helps you ❤️

My little guy started getting his first teeth and 4 months and we are now up to 6 chompers. Every time he gets a new pair we go through the same cycle of him not being used to the new things in his mouth and he will start biting and sometimes pulling. I go through the same thing every time of feeling hopeless and resigning myself to giving up breastfeeding. After a few tough days of adjustment from both of us we both get used to the new teeth and we are golden until the next teeth pop out. I know it's not a solution, but toughing it out is what has worked best for me. Best strategies for the tough days have been trying to breathe through it and remember he's not doing it on purpose and holding my boob while he feeds with a finger right near his mouth ready to take him off the boob for a minute if I have to. Hopefully you guys just need to learn the new teeth and you'll be back on track soon! Sending you good vibes! 🤞 (sorry for such a long comment whoops)

Woah! You guys are tough haha. My little guy is 8 months old and is now popping two teeth together. He is biting and pulling my nip and I can't help but take off the boobie, and then give it back hoping he doesn't go it again. @Corrin @Katie

I was doing a firm NO and taking Bub off the breast.
