Help!

I’m one week in from emergency c section. Still get a sharp searing pain in my incision site when I try to stand up from certain positions. Only occasionally though. Is this normal? Also, I feel generally dreadful. Yesterday I was able to go for a little walk. Today it’s back to feeling spaced out, sweaty and a little odd. Also, I have developed diarrohea in the last 48 hours which seems to be getting worse. Does it get better? Is this normal? My midwife says I should be feeling like a new woman by now. My newborn seems to be awake for 2-3 hours at a time and sleep for 2-3 hours at a time. Surely this is way too much?

I was definitely still having sharp pains a week out like you and my csection was planned (they told me he was going to be 11lbs). But I also probably didn't get the rest that my body needed after the procedure. Make sure you are getting the rest and nutrients that you need right now. Amd hydrate! As long as you don't have a temp and the wound is looking healthy then I think you just need to make sure you are getting the tlc you need! Be kind to yourself mama, and don't be afraid to ask your support system for a little more help while you are still healing.

I was still sensitive after 5 months. They told me that even though you can get back to normal (ish) the actual healing inside can take alot more time than people realise. Just don't push yourself too hard and keep an eye out for anything unusual ( temp, weeping etc) xx

This sounds similar to my experience. And the pain I was in seemed to sound different to others, it was when day 5 hit and I was feeling worse not better that I realised something was off. I described the pain and had to go back to hospital to be checked, turned out I had 2 small haematomas from where they’d hidden the stitches internally. These will in time go away naturally but they gave me antibiotics to help and it worked a treat, the pain cleared within a few days. Might be worth asking about this
