Sma alfamino and nuby rapid cool

Need to add the formula to water above 70 degrees. We add the formula to to rapid cool, measure out the water into the bottles then pour into the rapid cool and shake and then back into the bottle for feeding

we do. We only cool the water down in it never add the milk itself

@Sophie Alfamino needs to be water above 70 degrees or you’re not killing the bacteria

@Hannah I mix the power with a hot shot in the bottle and cool the rest in the rapid cool

I do an ounce of hot water with the formula in the bottle then cool the rest of the water in the rapid cool and add it. Not had any issues 😊

@Sophie @Leanne with the hot shot method, does the amount you leave to use as the hot shot vary by the amount of scoops?

Yeah so mine is currently on 4 scoops which is 120. So I do 30ml of hot water and then the other 90 on the rapid cool. When she moves up to the next amount I’ll probably see how it is with 1 oz worth of water still. If it’s to cold I’ll change it to 2oz of water before adding if that makes sense 😊

We’re on SMA Althera but we make the bottle of formula and then add it to the rapid cool as his formula just doesn’t look right if we do the hot shot method. We just give the rapid cool a quick wash and pop in the cold water steriliser. Then at the end of the day give it a really good clean. We also bought a 2nd rapid cool in case we go out and need to make more than 1 bottle

@Charlie this is what we do on Althera. I found the prep machine and even the kettle made it look awful 😖 He drinks more with rapid cool method which is strange, just stuck with this as looks the most milky and I feel better giving it 🤣
