Follow on milk,

I know 2 months early, but I’m just intrigued when baby reaches 6 months do they have to go onto the follow on milk? Or can they stay at the first infant milk till 12 months? What is the difference other than way more expensive!.

My health visitor has told me that they no longer need to go onto step 2 milk nd they can stay on step 1 all the way through, the amount they should be on is at the back of the tin which has the ages/months on them xx

First infant formula cannot be promoted in any way. However stage 2 formula can have offers and you can also collect points as well as be advertised the product. Usually there’s minimal difference between the 2 and it’s more of a marketing ploy however I use Kendamil and there is a slightly different ratio of Casein protein from first infant formula to Stage 2 which then (in theory) makes it easier to finally switch to cows milk which contains even more casein protein. Overall it’s a option which is usually ignored by most 🍼

@Sonia that’s good to know, we use kenamil also
