My stepdaughter was 10 when I had my first. Just for the sake of peace, I left every single time, or her dad had her leave and go play elsewhere in the house or outside. But I preferred to leave and go to my room just to have uninterrupted time with my baby. My heart rate and breathing were sooo much better, I noticed. Breastfeeding was always a challenge with my first 2, and I didn't need the added staring, questions, and struggle of trying to normalize it. We just verbally affirmed that breastfeeding was normal and that was that.
I have a step son who’s 5 and have to either leave the room or get him distracted or cover myself. May be different because he’s a LB and we’re girls but I just think it makes it easier and less questions x
