@IRD my OB just told me to use Progesterone. So I'm not convinced with that.
Following as I have my check up appointment next week and want to start birth control too x
Ask your doctor for the mini pill. It’s the only safe one for breastfeeding x
The mini pill is the best. I tried the IUD at 4 weeks PP, and it got lodged in my cervix and caused severe bleeding and I had to get a D&C because of it. So I been on the mini pill since. My baby girl is now 8 months old, although I no longer breastfeed. It's the only thing that my body can handle without side effects. The only thing I had the first few months was irregular bleeding and spotting but that's because my body was getting used to it. I still have some light spotting time to time but nothing major. It's better then getting pregnant again that's for sure!!!
@Jasmine what is this mini pill? Can you send a photo? Maybe I can try show it to my OB as she only told me to get progesterone pill. Huhuhu I don't wanna get preggy again :(
@Katrina please show me this mini pill I'll try to show it to my OB. I hope it's available here in Oman
Mini pill
@Erin the mini pill is the progesterone only pill :)
@Erin the mini pill is exactly the same as the progesterone only pill. And I don’t think there’s many options pill wise to prevent pregnancy while breastfeeding
@Sharnee great! Thanks for the clarity!!!
Since you're breastfeeding, you'll want to chat with your doctor about a progestin-only pill (POP), which is usually recommended for nursing moms because it's less likely to affect your milk supply. Tracking your cycle with an app can also be helpful, just be sure to be extra cautious around ovulation if you're trying to avoid pregnancy. Definitely bring up your options with your healthcare provider to find the best fit for you! ❤️
I would ask your OB. After my first kid they recommended that I use a new kind of birth control because the one I was previously taking has some hormones in it that would’ve reduced my milk supply.
