Rocking to sleep

My LG is 8 months old now and she goes to sleep in her cot but I have to rock her to sleep in the cot. I have tried to let her self sooth but she isn’t having any of it she just laughs at claps at me 🤣 how do I get her to go off by herself?

Babies don’t learn to sleep by themselves until between 4 and 7 on average! X

My 4 1/2 year old still needs me to help her fall asleep & I am still rocking my 9 month old to sleep for naps & at bedtime🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m still rocking to sleep! No sign of anything changing for us unless we sleep train which I’m not keen on yet!

What happens if you leave the room? If she’s happy I’d leave her for 10 mins and see if she drifts off. To get my LO to self settle I just slowly did less to help him, eg replaced rocking with stroking his back, then just ‘shhing’ him, then just sitting next to his cot until eventually I could just put him down and leave him

God knows, still rocking/feeding/baby wearing to sleep for all naps and night sleep, we also cosleep or we don't sleep 😂 9 months now!
