Too short for lowered crib 🥲

Hey Mamas, Anyone have any solutions for short mamas like myself (4’11”) for placing our LO’s in their lowered crib. My daughter is at the age where she is pulling herself up to stand so we need to lower the crib, but that will be super hard for me to place her inside while she’s asleep. I am highly considering a floor bed, however, in the time in between while I wait for the floor bed, what have you ladies done to help with this? Just looking for some ideas. Sincerely, A short mom. 😊

I'm 5'0" and having some trouble with the middle setting. Can you place a step next to the crib for yourself to stand on? That's what I plan to do, and it should be safe enough to be near the crib because it's low down and on the outside.

I'm also 4'11, and I skipped a crib due to this reason. So we started witha. Crib mattress on the floor next to my bed, so my baby could get used to it and now he has a floor bed in his room, twin sized. That way I can feed him and cuddle with him till he falls asleep and then sneak away easier.

@Melissa I was thinking about it, but I saw some Reddit threads and some moms are worried that they’d topple over or into the crib with just a step stool hahah. I’m looking for something a little wider!

@Alisha yeah, honestly is one of the ideas we have, but since my daughter is so mobile now I’m worried that she’s going to climb out and go exploring in our room (we have a baseboard heater so I’m scared she’ll have access to that). Did you place an enclosure like a playpen around the mattress?

@Cheryl so I have this platform that a family friend made me for after my c section to get in and out of bed, because my bed is high and harder to get in and out of. I plan to take the handrail off of it and use that. So maybe a small platform that you aren't likely to trip over? I know the room would be dark, but I used mine in my own bedroom in the dark for over 2 months and I managed not to trip over it. I dunno, but that's the best solution I can come up with as I don't really want to now spend money on a floor bed until we transition to a toddler bed, lol.

@Melissa that’s a really great idea! I think you may have solved my problem hahah. Thank you!

I hope it works! Good luck! 🤞

Another option that may work for you, consider just putting the mattress on the floor in a safe “yes” space
