A massage could help and always keep your legs on the pillow while Napping
I was the same. Mine lasted 4 weeks!!!!!
disclaimer, i am not a doctor, however i think it’s worth knowing how scar tissue and abdominal surgery does impact the lymphatic system and how effective it is with draining the body’s excess fluid- it’s also different for everyone. i did have swelling in my legs months after my c section, and to be honest my entire body and face was swollen for like 2 weeks. i waited months for the scar to heal before beginning any scar massage or stretching to address muscle functionality. the c section incision is right between two areas (inside the hip bones and just above the belly button) that move the body’s lymphatic fluid and help with draining the lower body. you can look up a map of lymphatic system to see where the areas are, and there are massage techniques that can help move the fluid along to help your body process. feet up the wall pose also helped on the swollen days that i just needed rest, too. give your body some time to heal if you can. hope this helps and you continue healing!
Mine lasted for 2 weeks.. I tried not to be on my feet for too long because I noticed the swelling would get worse after prolonged standing. I tried to elevate my feet whenever I’m sitting and I kept my legs on the pillow when sleeping. And I drank a lot of water!
Mine lasted about a week and half. I elevated my legs, walked around the house, and drank lots of water
Mine was awful omg! Try some light lymphatic drainage massage (or have your partner do it especially if you can’t reach) it made such a difference in my swelling FAST! Also thigh high compression socks
I think that was the worst part of my csection. I was swollen from my belly button to my toes. I'm 4 months PP and still have a little swelling. Hopefully yours doesn't last as long.
I didnt have a c-section but it took about a week. Drink a ton of water
Sleep with legs on a pillow/elevate them when you can, get lots of sleep (as much as you can), pound water & make sure to do a couple laps around your house or bedroom every once in a while. I found that the movement combined with lots of water and resting with my feet up really helped calm down my swelling but it still took a while.
I was super swollen after my c section too!!! I’d say try some compressions socks, I didn’t have any at the time but I found my swelling went away between 3 and 5 weeks pp
Mine lasted around 4 weeks. Drink plenty of water, raise your legs and feet when you can, I slept with mine raised on a couple of pillows and walking helped loads x
@Tara did it take 3-5 weeks to go away completely? Or did you slowly notice a change?
Heya, I'm on day 14 and still have very slightly swollen feet(can only tell as my trainers are too tight) I had this really bad up until day 8ish from my thighs to my toes, I found compression socks during the day time and my naps, sleeping with my feet on two pillows and over doing the ankle circles really helped! I also tried to massage them as much as I could, also got my partner to help ☺️ Honestly, all of a sudden you'll look down and be like ah, my ankles/toes are back 😅 Hopefully its speedy for you x
