How soon after c section can you drive ?

I had a c section 4 weeks ago and feel ready to. I asked GP and they just said it varies everyone is different. If you are ready then you can . Is this the all clear ? Can I talk to my car insurance now and then drive ?

Depends on your insurance. I spoke to mine a week after as my policy was due for renewal and they said as soon as the doctor says I can I could. I would speak to insurance and explain that doctors have cleared you and should be fine x

My midwife cleared me to drive at 3 weeks!

I drove when I could get in and out the car without having much pain x

I drove after 3 weeks, I checked with my insurance and they said it was fine. If you feel ready and your insurance covers it then I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to! x

I drove myself home from the hospital lol

Day 5 to come home from hospital then most days to take baby to and from hospital appointments x

A friend of mine couldn't drive till 8 week post surgery but check first

I drove as soon as I was off opiates and could ride in the car with out hurting too much. ( NICU baby)

Midwife said 6 weeks or when your insurance covers you. I personally did a couple of short drives from 3 weeks but only 5 minutes down the road twice a week. When I was 5 weeks pp I did a 30 minute drive and then from 6 weeks pp I was driving normally. Don't push yourself, but I totally understand wanting your freedom and independence back x

Four weeks since my c section and I’m so desperate to drive again 😭

Take it easy but I drove myself home after my c section it was very uncomfortable but as a single mom I had to

I was driving after 2 weeks. If you feel capable to do an emergency stop you can drive

At my 6 week GP appointment, they asked me if I felt I was able to perform an emergency stop, and turn around in the seat without it hurting

I had to drive two weeks postpartum because my husband went back to work. I didn’t drive all the time just to appointments or if I really needed to get out of the house. When my husband was home he would drive for us and that happened for multiple months.

I was told if I can stamp on a coke can and crush it I can drive and it’s an emergency stop

I drive after 2 weeks

I was told 2 weeks!

I was told that when I can make an emergency stop because of the pain, then I’m good to go. Can’t remember who told me this, but it made sense to me.

I got cleared to drive short distances at 3 weeks
