Shouldn’t smell! I’d get a second opinion x
It really sounded smell at all. Smell is infection. I would definitely seek another opinion. In the meanwhile, keep it clean and dry. Some mums say it helped putting a panty liner along the inside of their knickers along the wound to soak up any moisture or sweat.
Hi there i gave birth 9 weeks ago! I was in the same boat. I had a smell coming from the c sec and i showed midwives and docs but there was no infection. The main reason would be a lil opened area on the wound. The only way you can manage is to pat dry the scar and then completely dry it (main cause of smell). I used to clean it properly with soap and water. Then after shower i would dry it well with hair dryer (a must- this will help healing faster). Hair dryer dries it out completely. If theres a bit of stuff coming. Use can use a sterile gauge or a cotton period pad and put it on the scar directly. Later i figured- the main reason of smell is wet area. So make sure its always dry and use a dryer. It should then go away in a week or two.
Mines smelled they said it wasn’t infected , just try and keep it clean and dry I put a little bit of talcum powder on mine to keep it dry but not sure if your allowed to do that xx
@Yukta this may be it because he did say i had a little opened spot that would close in its own the blow dryer is genius i was standing in front of a fan but the super cold air was causing me pain THANKYOU!!!
@Olivia did the powder clump up if you sweat? my stomach still sits over the scar slightly so sometimes it causes sweat but i definitely want to try the powder route
@Milly i didn’t think i could put that on it i’ll definitely try the peroxide route
@Kennedy I’ve got an over hang and if u put too much it will clump up I found that it helped with the smell as well x
My mates smelt and she got infected - so best see a doctor.
