Commando to crawl.

My boy has been comando crawling since about 6 months he’s now 9.5 months and because he gets from A to B so efficiently doing this I can’t seem to get him to start crawling properly. Is anyone else in the same boat? Or has anyone done anything to encourage the transition from comando to crawling? I have done all the usual - tucking legs under him and getting him onto his knees, supporting him etc. He is so strong, he can pull himself up against me into a standing position etc so he is capable - I just think he’s happy doing the comando style 😂 Thanks in advance!

My baby did this for 2 months. He started crawling at 8 months after we did some naked baby time and he didn’t like his tummy on the wood flooring. Started crawling that day and never went back to commando

We did kneeling play to help him learn to use his knees and strengthen his hips. We would put toys on top of a box to entice him. Also putting toys to the side of him rather than in front to encourage him to twist his body and to get into the crawling position 😊

My little boy commando crawled for about a month and a half, he got reaaally confident commando crawling so I just accepted this is how it's going to be because a week later he learnt to pull himself up and walk about the furniture also very confidently. Maybe two weeks ago he just decided to start crawling properly. I didn't do anything to encourage it I just let him do it in his own time 😊
