Does playing music for baby in womb help brain development?

I've heard it helps to play classical music as your unborn baby will start to recognize patterns. Was interested in everyone's opinions.

There’s good research to support this, although I believe it’s not exclusive to classical music. Babies can also recognise a song they’ve repeatedly heard in the womb and be soothed by it☺️

My husband has a theory that our little boy is quite good at maths and enjoys stories because that's all he heard when I was pregnant (teacher).

I’m not really sure but what I will say is I used to play Natasha beddingfield ‘unwritten’ in the car, really loud (when I was pregnant). I used to play it when I was really stressed and needed to just blast a song to escape for a few minuets and it used to work😂now, anytime my son is crying or we need to get him to sleep we play this song and he instantly calms down. I don’t know if it’s just a coincidence or whether it released some kind of hormone when I used to play it in the car. FYI we figured this song does the trick because I had a playlist playing when he was a newborn and he was crying and when this song came on he stopped xx

I played violins for my girl & that’s what puts her to sleep (Lindsey sterling)

i do nothing but listen to music and my partner is the same and our friends who i spent a lot of time around, and now if we’re in the car she only sleeps to dnb music cause that’s what we like 😭

Idk but I will say my first child I did this and he is definitely musically talented. He could not sing with words but you knew what he was singing at 7 months old, he would turn everything into a beat and dance and he loved music no matter the genre.
